About this property
Sorry no more weeks available - please check back in January for Summer 2026
With a little more waterfront this would be an island - unmatched privacy. (2026 Summer availability will be listed in January 2026)
Welcome to the Loon Lodge, available for Summer time rentals - end of June through August. Our home is located on a private peninsula that juts into Concord Pond, offering over 750 feet of waterfront. Find yourself waking to a 270-degree view of this peaceful body of water in the cradle of Woodstock’s beautiful mountains.
Panoramic windows ensure that even when you are inside you will be able to enjoy the tranquility of this setting. Come enjoy our propane grill, picnic tables, a natural jetty, and a fire pit that rests on a rock outcropping next to the water. In 2023 we installed a wrap-around, all-weather (covered) porch on the pond side of home - no more worries about rain; you can be outside any time, which visitors love.
Our home embodies the spirit of the eco-friendly area and is "off the grid," using all-solar electrical energy with a back-up generator and propane for stove and BBQ. The kitchen and bathrooms are refreshingly modern with a large shower and washing machine and dryer. We ask that you try to limit your use with the laundry machine in honor of our eco-friendly theme and our septic system.
This home provides accommodations for 9 people and has one and a half bathrooms. A second-floor master bedroom contains a queen bed and adjacent, large bedroom contains 3 singles and a bunk bed. A double bed in the downstairs den can comfortably sleep an additional 2 people. And, something we learned from some of our guests: Got kids? Got good friends who also have kids? 2 yeses - consider going in on a rental with your friends. 2 adult rooms for the parents and the large, upstairs "bunk room" for the kids works very well.
Nature lovers: Among some of the pond's common fauna, we have a mating pair of loons that live and thrive here in the clean ecosystem. It is not uncommon to kayak through the lake and have a loon emerge from the depth right next to your boat, and you will likely get to watch the loons raise their baby if past years are any judge. The loon’s nest tends to move around the pond, is protected, and should not be disturbed. Whether relaxing by the fire or in a kayak at sunrise or sunset, the eerie call of the loon will surely overwhelm. Bald eagles also call on this pond home and transient moose have been seen feeding in the shallow areas.
Adventure lovers: We have kayaks and canoes for exploring the pond and the island (please contribute to keeping the island clean and undisturbed to insure that the owner continues to allow public access). We are surrounded by great hiking trails such as those found on Bald and Speckle Mountains (trail-head only 10 minutes away). You are only a 40-minute drive to Sunday River, an extremely popular ski mountain for New Englanders throughout the winter but in the summer offering adrenaline-inducing as well as leisure activities. Around Sunday River you will find over 20 miles of mountain-biking terrain; zip-lining; golf; a 18-hole disc golf course; and, of course, hiking. For a more leisurely day, you can take the gondola up the mountain and enjoy a picnic with a vista or visit their top ski lodge for lunch and a beverage. We are also within an hour of some of the finest white water rafting and there are multiple ATV companies in the area.

The property is like living In a Bob Ross painting! The cabin is beautiful with an open floor plan and new front deck. Our entire group had a wonderful time.
Really great property with tons of privacy and beautiful lake view. Great swimming and kayaking in the lake. Absolutely awesome porch on the front of the house. Fire pit is in a great location. Wonderful owners. Thanks for a great vacation!
What a beautiful piece of Maine! There is a view from every window and we heard the loons every day and night. The kids loved the jumping rock and sleeping in the same room. I'm sure it felt like camp to them. It was a fabulous week!
Our 3rd time returning to this beautiful spot, the views from every where on the property can’t be beat, even better with the new deck!! Bill is wonderful to communicate with, goes above and beyond. 😁
This property was amazing! We had such a relaxing week. We spent every day out on the water and a few nights by the fire in the fire pit on the edge of the water. We watched daily for the family of loons that lived there and saw a few eagles as well! Thankful the loons kept their baby safe 💕Our photos do not do justice to what we experienced.
Bill was an excellent host, very friendly and attentive! Highly recommend!
We had a really lovely week at Loon Lodge. The property is exactly as depicted and described. We canoed and kayaked, swam, hiked nearby, and sat and watched the loons and eagle and many other birds. Loved the cozy wood stove and the fire pit. The pond was quiet and very beautiful. Bill was an accommodating and helpful host. We were very sad to leave!
Highly recommend Loon Lodge for a family getaway. So relaxing being on the Pond and watching/listening to the loons and seeing a bald eagle or two. We hiked Bald and Speckled mountain and also Table Rock during our stay. We spent alot of time out at the Jumping Rock or catching frogs with our little ones. Bill (property owner) is great, very informative at check in and throughout the stay. Great place to spend a family vacation without electronics and the distractions that take away from Family. Thanks again Bill. We had a wonderful week and look forward to staying here again.
Beautiful place to vacation. There are hiking trails near by and we really enjoyed swimming & kayaking in the pond. Bill was super friendly and helpful! Can't wait to come back!
This was our second time back and we enjoyed this great spot just as much! Bill is such a nice person to communicate with.

The Loon Lodge is a perfect getaway!
The Loon lodge is a perfect getaway! My family had an amazing two weeks at this spacious, clean and comfortable lakeside house with gorgeous views from every room. We swam in the lake and explored it on kayaks and canoes that are on the property. We hiked the many beautiful trails to other lakes and a mountain. Enjoyed the amazing sunsets over the lake and the nightly campfires under the starry skies. The house has all the necessary amenities and the solar power provided more than enough electric power to accommodate our family's needs. The property is huge, very private and quiet. Bill is a wonderful host, a pleasure to talk to and very helpful with any problems.

Perfect place for a relaxing holiday for the whole family!
We stayed a week in Bill's house and had an absolutely wonderful time! The place is simply gorgeous - the best location on the pond - and the house is well maintained and equipped with everything you would need.
We stayed in the house two families together - 4 adults and 4 kids. The house worked well for all of us. The kids enjoyed picking blueberries, fishing and exploring, and we all enjoyed swimming in the lake, paddling in the canoes and kayaks (come with the house), making fires in what must be one of the best located fire pits, reading books overlooking the lake and just hanging around enjoying the beauty & quietness of it all.
We did go hiking in the area a couple of times. The hikes are easy to find and well marked. The pond you can walk around (shagg pond?) is peaceful and beautiful, and the water is very clear. We also recommend hiking to one or two of the peaks.
We particularly enjoyed that the house is truly off the grid. We did get phone signals, but no data access so we were all offline for the week. Just what we needed!
Bill was an excellent host who left us well-informed and prepared for our stay. We hope to visit the house again!

Perfect spot
Such a nice spot, great views, loved being able just get on the kayaks and explore the pond and the little island. We even picked fresh blueberries for our pancakes in the morning. The hikes near by had great views also. Would definitely return to this peaceful place. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Surround yourself with the beauty of Concord Pond. Kayaking, swimming, sunsets.
We were so happy to arrive at Concord Pond. It was exactly what we needed.
Peaceful, beautiful surroundings with your own set of nesting loons to entertain you !
Kayaking , canoeing, wind surfing, swimming, campfires on the rocks. A great way to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty. Moose sightings and other wildlife sightings were exciting to including Bird watching ! We hike up bald and speckle mountain ten minutes away. 2200 ft to top of Speckle. Or pack a lunch and stay at Bald mountain and enjoy the views for those who want less of a hike. On the way up the mountain was little concord pond to walk around and swim. A clean beautiful swimming pond half way to top of Bald. Perfect for families ! A favorite day of mine.
Bring a book , play some games , and enjoy time with your family!! Just unwind.
Everything was provided. Owners were very kind and helpful. They were quick to respond and so helpful with the area and every need we had.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property for its unique location on the pond - a private peninsula with over 750 feet of lakefront - and the fact that it is off-the-grid, away from the maddening crowd. We were going to renovate the existing cabin and decided that a redo was a better bet. So, what we have now is all new from 2007, including solar and reasonable cellular coverage. Peaceful, unhurried, with plenty to do on and off the property.
