Candler Rental

Cute, cozy neighborhood, good A/C, comfy beds, good showers. Furniture and decor are quite worn. Kitchen has pots/pans and cooking utensils but very few actual dishes (plates, bowls, cups, silverware - is a mismatched and minimal set). Towels were not in bathrooms but were found near washing machine, in kitchen. Paper plates and plasticware were provided. We did require some help upon arrival, the gentleman who came out was very nice and helpful, but the managing company (Evolve) did not respond to VRBO message, so I had to go backwards through email to find contacts and get help - making my VRBO app useless to manage my trip.

Ok for the price but not our usual VRBO experience

Listing details said toiletries were included, but aside from hand soap in the bathrooms, there was only one bar of soap provided and nothing else. The very dirty, stained armchair and ottoman in the trundle bed room needs to be removed. Not at all homey or welcoming having that in a bedroom. Stepped in a fairly large dried grease puddle in the kitchen which we had to clean up the first night we arrived. We never cooked in the kitchen because it was unappealing and we arrived to a full dishwasher of dirty dishes. Floors should’ve been dry mopped (at least) before guest arrival. Our socks were quite dirty after our first evening in the house. Dirty fingerprints on doors and jambs and in closets were uninviting. The living room and master bedroom were clean and comfortable (other than the dirty floors) but there were a lot of details that were missed like dried gum stuck to the master closet floor, no trash cans in either bathroom, a streak of dried liquid that had run down the bedside table and looked gross. This property was no where near as clean as what we are used to with VRBO. In addition to that, the house is very close to a busy highway and we heard traffic all night - bearable except for the many semi trucks doing their very loud downshift breaking. Providing fans for white noise in the bedrooms would probably help. I would’ve given this property only two stars, but I can tell the owners have made some efforts with it, so I felt badly leaving two.
