Luxuriously appointed Villa Katerina is set in a quiet location in W. Crete, surrounded by stunning views of The White Mountains and sea.
Villa Katerina is provided with the special sign of the Greek Tourist Organization (EOT-1042K122K015040000) which secures the quality level of all services, terms and conditions our guests have the privilege to enjoy during their stay.
Every year we try to improve the facilities we offer to our visitors. Last years we made our pool salted, so we don't use chlorine or other chemicals. We also have new wooden Sunloungers with very comfortable mattresses and a lounge nest!!
Laze around your own beautiful private & secluded Eco chlorine-free 40 sqm heated Pool, listening to bird-song and enjoying the scent of fragrant flowers.
Overlooking your own private pool, and the sea, one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and has a king size double bed and en-suite shower room with hydro massage.
The other two bedrooms are on the first floor. One of them has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. The other one has big double bed and an en-suite bathroom with Hydro Massage Shower.
From both upstairs bedrooms you step out onto a large veranda which overlooks the olive groves, the White Mountains and the sea.
On the ground floor there is an open plan living/dining room with a large couch for 6 persons, an easy chair and a big Lcd TV . DVD and CD played are also provided. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and all the necessary requirements for cooking a meal of your taste.
The interior of the Villa is air-conditioned for comfort on hot summer days.
For any chill days possibly early and late season, there is heating throughout the entire Villa plus a cozy fireplace in the living room. Outside the Villa, in a designated place you can find plenty of wood.
Enjoy the pleasures of the local taverns, or eat by your Pool on long, warm balmy evenings.
Whether you are looking for a totally relaxing, or a more adventurous holiday, you will find that Villa Katerina is the perfect base.
We brought even closer the nature to you and your table with more fruits and vegetables from our garden and fresh eggs from a new small hennery a few meters away from the Villa.. You can collect vegetables and eggs by yourself!!!
Welcome pack: A welcome pack will await you in the Villa, consisting of traditional fresh organic products.
A bottle of olive oil, raki, and local wine from Yianni, Katerina's husband's, own farm.
For you to enjoy leisurely breakfasts on your terrace overlooking the Pool, there is a breakfast pack consisting of bread, natural juices, eggs, bacon,fruits, cheese, honey and butter,upon your arrival. Ask me for extra eggs,oil,raki and honey during your stay!!
Bath & Pool towels,shampoo,shower gel,conditioner and hairdryer, are provided.
The Villa is cleaned twice a week which includes linen and towel (bath and pool) change.

Lovely villa and pool

Just returned from a week's stay in Villa Katerina - by far one of the best villa's we have stayed in!The pool area is fantastic, comfortable high quality sun beds (not the cheap plastic ones) and lovely shaded area to sit at when the sun is too hot! The upstairs patio area with sun shade is great - with fantastic views out over the sea. The kitchen is well stocked including washing stuff (as well as the clothes washing machine). The bathroom toiletries were amazing as well - definitely 5* hotel quality items!Manos was a great host as well - left us lots of food & sweets throughout our stay, and was always on hand checking that everything was ok - which is was!The two local taverna's in the village were very good - we ate there 4/5 times throughout the week.Would recommend Villa Katerina 100% to anyone who is looking to stay in the area!

Amazing property and host

The only thing more amazing than Western Crete is this property and the only thing better than this property is the host! Villa Katerina and the owner, Manolis, are both truly special and we will always remember our stay here! I don’t know where to start but Manolis went above and beyond in every way and the house, the pool, the food exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommend Villa Katerina if you are planning a trip to Western Crete!

One of the best - fantastic stay

Having stayed on Crete 3 times now, can definitely say this is our favourite - Villa Katerina is a fantastic place to stay with the family - if you want seclusion but also being within a v.short drive to beaches and restaurants ( there are 3 within walking distance as well) - one of the best pools we have had and great bedrooms, air conditioning that works very well - finally, the owner, Manos is great to work with - very nice welcome gifts and then brought further gifts during our stay - all local produce - thanks to Manos for being such a great host - will hope to return

Wonderful Villa!!!!

Our stay here was amazing! We stayed for 7 nights and did not want to leave. Manolis is an exceptional host and so generous with all of his gifts of delicious food and the time he spent with us giving excellent advice on where to go or where to eat! Loved Crete with all their small wonderful villages, beautiful beaches and lovely people! We miss it already! Do not hesitate to book it!!!!

Beautiful villa

Beautiful setting in a small village. Sea views, beach about a 10 min car journey. Fabulous pool and good quality sun loungers. Well equipped villa with everything you need to cook or BBQ. Great local, friendly taverna 2 mins walk away. Host Manolis was so helpful, responding to any query very quickly and providing us with lots of Cretan specialties and treats. We had a great stay - wish we had booked for longer !

The Villa is even better than you can see on pictures in the web-sites, you are in a quiet position near Hania(15 minutes by car)and some very nice beaches(Falasarna our favorite one). The property is cleaned and towels and blankets are changed twice a week. The owners are very friendly and always ready to give advices or help. This is a place I would surely reccomend to a friend and I hope I will pass some time there again sooner or later.

Amazing Holiday!

Just a fantastic holiday! Beautiful villa which has everything you could possibly need. The pool is beautiful and so relaxing. Manos we can’t thank you enough for all your help and generosity. We hired a car and got to see the Mose beautiful sunsets and beaches. Stunning food at the local restaurants. Can’t fault this holiday and will be back! We have older kids ages 14 and 17 and they just loved it! Thank you xx

Lovely Villa in a great semi-remote location, beautiful grounds, garden furniture and pool which we all hugely appreciated and enjoyed We had everything we needed already there, but host Manos ensured we had an amazing stay, by leaving a welcome hamper of food and drink, bringing more lovely homemade treats during our stay and was there if we needed anything else in super fast time There are 2 Tavernas within walking distance and a shop not too far by car, as well as the lovely Kolymvari just over 5 minutes away with its shops, restaurants and harbour Would happily stay here again without hesitation

Tranquility & relaxation in perfect location

The house comes with all necessary features for a relaxed stay. Be it the well equiped kitchen, the prettty bathrooms or the comfortable beds. The bright living room openes to the outside terrace. But without doubt, the highlight is the pool area surrounded by olive trees giving the choice to get some sun or reading a book in the shade. The village is quite and you rarely see a car going around. Fee walking minutes there are two tavernas to choose from, both offering delicious greek cuisine. Even though its remote character, the house is easy to reach and just few minutes by car from the highway - making it a perfect home base to explore the north and westcoast. Manos is a great host, welcoming me upon arrival and was making sure I had all I need. Great stay!

Unexpectable experience!!

We booked this Villa for 10 days during the wintertime!!! We saw the photos firstly and the reviews which were unbelievable and that's it!! When we arrived we saw many differences at the villa. The Villa is more beautiful than the photos!!! New fence, new doors, new garage area, what a surprise!!! The pool of course as every guest mentioned is fantastic! Manolis informed us that he also changed all the mattresses. We had such a nice sleep!! 10 days resting, eating, and drinking local wine. We also had the opportunity to meet Manolis who gave us many ideas for things to do during this no-tourist period. Manolis was (as all the reviews mention) very generous and he make as feel like home! We will be back!!

attractive property in convenient village

The house is of very good quality well maintained with good ground floor space and an enticing pool. The use of wood and tiles gives a luxurious impression. The owner is most welcoming with useful advice and offerings of local produce. We felt guests in a friends home rather than customers. The village is pleasant to walk round. Only a few minutes from the local beach town of Kolumbari and the national road with easy access to Western Crete's many delightful excursions. The house is surrounded by olive groves though the plot itself is small- the pool and half a dozen olive trees on one side and adequate parking space on the other. Bedrooms not as spacious as living space but adequate. the nearest I can get to a negative comment is that the bathroom of the third bedroom is small with an ineffective multi spray shower fitting taking up limited space in the shower.

2 lovely weeks in West Crete

When we booked Villa Katerina,over six months ago based on the reviews and photos we had high, high expectations.....and they were exceeded! It is even MORE beautiful than the pictures, Manolis is even MORE amazing as host than the reviews describe and our stay overall was even better than I could have hoped. We were so glad we chose to stay in Spilia, a quiet, charming village in the best location for exploring the beaches and the city of Chania and relaxing. The house is of course spotless, the beds are huge and the WiFi fast.The welcome pack Manolis provided to us was a big surprise for. We had read for this in the reviews but we could not imagine all these things he offered to us. During our staying he gave us more eggs more olive oil,more honey and more wine!!!We loved very product he gave us.Every time we met him he asked us if we need anything he made us feel like home (even better). Manolis tips is another thing have to mention...Just follow it...He gave us 6 pages of things we can do ...We tried most of them. There are some secrets i won;t mention it....The beaches of Balos , Falasarna and Elafonisi are easily reached, the beautiful city of Chania also. We spent a lot of time in the villa, just relaxing and the village of Spilia. There are 2 taverns there with grate traditional food some meters away from the Villa.In less than 1 km there is also a church in a cave where you can have a pick nick.Kolimvari (5 minutes drive) has also grate food (specially seafood). There are so many things i could mention....Every time we did something, we checked it in from Manolis list. There are so many things we didn;t do...So..We will come back next summer. Thank you Manolis for evrything you did for us! Greedings from Germany

Wir verbrachten eine Ende Oktober eine Woche in dieser wunderschönen Villa und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Der Besitzer der Villa ist sehr gastfreundlich und hat uns mit ein paar köstlichen Speisen versorgt. Der Pool ist wirklich toll. Jeden Morgen nach dem Frühstück auf der Terrasse haben wir mit unseren Kindern hier gleich ein paar Bahnen gedreht und die Sonne genossen. Als Ausgangspunkt für Touren in West-Kreta ist die Villa sehr gut gelegen. Elafonissi Beach, Falasarna Beach, Balos Beach, Chania, Samaria-Schlucht, ... sind gut zu mit dem Auto zu erreichen. In Kolymvari haben wir ein paar nette und gute Restaurants besucht. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub und vermissen die Villa schon!

Wir haben zwei wunderbare Wochen in der Villa Katerina verbracht. Der Pool mit dem kleinen Kinderpool war das absolute Highlight. Das Grundstück ist schön, mit Meerblick und von außen nicht einsehbar. Manos hat sich super um uns gekümmert und hatte viele tolle Tips, was man in der Umgebung machen kann. Die Lage in Spilia ist toll, um die Westküste zu erkunden. In Spilia selbst gibt es drei Restaurants/Tavernen, um essen zu gehen.

The perfect villa in Western Crete

I’m not sure what impressed us more between the host and the villa itself. This was an unbelievably well executed Holiday stay from check-in to check-out. First, about the host. He’s incredible! Affable, earnest, helpful, flexible, and a wonderful person with whom to interact. He takes your vacation stay seriously and sees to it personally that you have a wonderful time. There’s a notebook in the villa of what to do and where to go with his recommendations. You arrive and the refrigerator is stocked with treats and local specialties. He’s responsive to inquiries/requests and flexible to your preferences. This is the host I want for every VRBO, forever. He’s really that good. The villa itself is gorgeous. The little village of Spilia is wonderful! Partially up the mountain with views to the Mediterranean (from the villa’s back yard!). A couple of delicious local taverns within walking distance. 1km up the hill is the cave/historical attraction/Orthodox church of St. John the Hermit. The villa itself was pristine, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The pool was an extravagance our daughters enjoyed daily. There’s an outdoor downstairs table set in the shade of the upstairs balcony with views of the town, mountains, and sea; we ate at that table daily. The furnishings are attractive, comfortable, as pictured, and exactly what I would wish for on this type of stay. Air conditioners by room let everyone set their preference for comfort. And the location gave us 30-60 minute driving access to pretty much everything the prefecture of Chania has to offer, from Southwest beaches (e.g. Elafonissi) to old town Chania proper. We chose this villa because every review seemed to rave about how great the place was. They were spot on. If you’re considering a stay in/around Chania, I wouldn’t even consider another location. Thank you!
