Why they chose this property
This is a generational, historical family property.
Purchased as a 200 acre parcel in the early 1950's, most of it was sold by the owners in the early 1960's to help establish the CCNS.
Located near the historic Atwood Higgins House on Bound Brook Island, this an a part of Wellfleet that many visitors never see. It is like walking back in time to when Cape Cod was unexplored by most visitors.
In the early days of ownership when this barn housed horses, they kicked up arrowheads in the yard. The (Harvard) Peabody Museum confirmed that the property was once in habited by local natives.
The feeling of the property's origin story still saturates the location.
When you experience staying here, you'll understand this description.
The owners love to share this private, sacred piece of Wellfleet.
