A perfectly nice older home, well set up for non-disabled folks to use comfortably. The house was WAY overheated when we arrived, and we never could figure out how to make the TVs in the bedrooms work, but otherwise it was a very nice place to stay.

Great location!

This was the perfect location to celebrate graduation and enjoy time with family. It is an older home, but had plenty of room and nice central location. Beautiful flowers in front, peaceful backyard, thank you for sharing your home!

Comfortable home in Windsor.

The home was an easy drive to U of Hartford, graduation downtown & the airport. It fit our family of 6 adults well & the property manager was quick to address our needs. While an older home with ongoing repairs, it was comfortable and secure, provided air conditioning & everything we needed in the kitchen. Overall, it was a good choice for graduation week events & we would recommend this home to others for a pleasant stay.

Very Clean

Check-in was very easy. We had two questions after check-in, and the property manager was very responsive. The property is very outdated, but the price reflects that. It was very clean, and for the most part comfortable. It is important to note that there are working train tracks behind this property. We could hear trains day and night, it didn’t bother us so much, but we thought It would have been good to know that before choosing to stay here. Also, just a few touches would have improved our rating: liquid hand soap, one roll of paper towel, a hook to hang your wet towel. Nothing that ruined our stay, but all the VRBO’s we’ve stayed in have had these little touches that make a huge difference. Also, the placement of the TV’s was awkward (two in the kitchen, but none in the living room?).

The tiny house is designed to reflect a vintage charm, and while it may differ from more modern accommodations, that character is part of the intended experience. The owner notes that small hotel-style bar soaps are provided in each bathroom for handwashing, and hand towels are available in both the bathroom and kitchen. While paper towels are not currently included, it's helpful to know this was missed, and it's now being considered for future stays.Regarding your mention of the nearby train, it does run by the lake at the back of the property, but it is not close or disruptive, and many guests have found it adds to the charm without impacting their rest.Your feedback on the lighting and pathway access is very much appreciated, and we’re working with the owner to explore improvements to both lighting and landscaping to make arriving after dark easier and safer for future guests.We sincerely appreciate the 4-star rating and your balanced observations. It’s clear this home has great potential, and your input is helping us make it even better."

Nice place overall

The place was clean and charming. There were a couple of amenities not provided that I’m used to being provided such as extra blankets and enough bathroom linens for the number of people staying. When I reached out, there was no response for more than 12 hours. Hair dryer tripped the breaker and we lost power. That could happen in any house of that age. I finally got in touch with the guest contact and she was defensive and of not much help. Once the owner was involved things were handled professionally and swiftly. Power was restored and we didn’t miss any of our activities. Overall, I would recommend staying there. I just wasn’t impressed with the responsiveness or professionalism of the guest contact.

Check in was fairly easy. The masterlock was hard to open with the pin. The house itself was old and falling apart in places. The storm door was broken. We found a broken plate in a cupboard and when we entered the property the kitchen window was open. The yellow walls and hellow bathtub and yellow mattress make everything look dirty. The pillows were so flat they might as well have not been there. The kitchen was poorly stocked: no sugar for coffee or room temp creamers or even a spatula for pancakes. The filter in the fridge definitely needed to be changed or checked because the water was disgusting. There were no games or even a deck of cards for us. The decor was so ridiculously Christian it was off putting. There were not enough towels in the kitchen and none in the downstairs bathroom. All the furniture was old and sunken in. And it's not even owned by a person, it's a rental company who can't be bothered to take care of the property.

From the owner: We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations. The house is owned by a person and not a rental company. We work hard, and provide a clean and comfortable place for all our guests. - We offer keyless entry and the lock box is only for cases where the keypad fails. - Before every check in, my aunt nearby does a walk through with my property manager and guest contact to make sure everything is in place/functioning. - The storm door was not broken before you arrived we have verified it was working. - The home is vintage, bath tub is clean and vintage, mattress is green/white in color without stains. Everything is in good condition, and is not sunken in. - We do not offer sugar/coffee but I’m willing to offer sugar packets. - The filter lasts for 3 months in the fridge, it was changed 2 months ago. - I had a deck of cards there, but unfortunately they walked away with a past guest. I will put new cards/board games. - We have plenty of towels in the kitchen. - We will replace the pillows with the hopes they will not be too firm.We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
