About this property
Haven Hills in Jumbunna
About the home
Escape to “Haven Hills,” a luxurious single-storey retreat nestled in the historical hamlet of Jumbunna, overlooking the rolling hills of South Gippsland. It's only a 1h 30min drive from Melbourne’s East, 5 minutes to Korumburra's supermarket and restaurants, 10 minutes to the nearest cellar doors, 15 minutes to the seaside town of Inverloch and 40 minutes to Phillip Island. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
This home has it all with a well stocked kitchen, 4 living areas, free wifi and a games room! The entry opens into a conservatory including a sitting area (including books) and a sun drenched table. Up a few steps is the large open-plan dining/living room with incredible views, a smart TV with bluetooth speakers and an asthma-friendly fireplace (starter pellet pack provided).
A mud room off the dining room leads to the garage/games room which features a table tennis table, additional lounge & outdoor sports equipment. The large, modern kitchen (with wall mounted TV) enjoys delightful garden views and flows through to the fully equipped laundry (washing machine & clothes dryer) and outdoor meals area.
All five bedrooms have spectacular views. Bedroom 1 includes its own sitting area with TV, and a huge ensuite (shower, toilet & double vanity). Bedroom 2 has an ensuite (shower & toilet). Off the main living room are bedrooms 3 and 4 which share a walk through WIR as well as a bathroom (toilet & shower over bath). At the rear of the main home is the separate studio/bedroom 5 which includes a couch and TV.
Outdoor Areas
The patio off the main living room provides an incredible vista over the changing colours of the hills. Bring a well stocked charcuterie board for the outdoor table (including 4 seats) and glass of your favourite bubbles and make memories while enjoying the views. A rear covered deck overlooks the lawn and sprawling garden. Wander amongst mature trees and vegetable patches picking what you need for your stay at Haven Hills. The lawn provides ample space for ball games and an adjacent outdoor area (gas BBQ & large outdoor table) is a great spot for meals. The garage/games room comes with a table tennis table, lounge & outdoor sports equipment). The circular and side driveways provide ample parking for up to 6 cars.
Nearby experiences include farmers markets, a local cheese producer with cellar door, a truffle farm with in-season truffle hunts, scenic lookouts and a good number of local wineries and breweries. A little further afield are the local foodie towns of Loch and Meeniyan. A comprehensive list of all that is available in South Gippsland is available upon your arrival.
Guests should know that because of the rural setting regular grounds work may take place in the middle of the week - this will not impact guests privacy and enjoyment of the grounds.
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen has a family-sized sink, fridge, dishwasher, two electric ovens and a gas cook top. It is also equipped with baking and cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle and more.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There is a wall mounted reverse cycle air conditioner in the main living room plus another in the studio/bedroom 5. There are ceiling fans in bedrooms 1, 2, 3 and 4, plus an additional upright fan (stored in bedroom 5). Bedroom 1 and the living room have electric wall heaters. Two spare heaters can be used as required. There is also a ducted, asthma-friendly pellet burner in the main living room (starter pellet pack provided).
Bedding Configuration
This home has 9 beds, accommodating up to 14 guests:
Bedroom 1: One King bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: One Queen bed
Bedroom 4: Two Single beds
Bedroom 5 (Studio): Two Tri-bunks
Please note: The Tri-bunks have a double bed base with a single bed above it.
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.
Additional notes
As this is a rural property, all water is collected and stored in a rainwater tank. Additionally, all toilet waste is directed to a septic tank. As a result, septic-tank friendly toilet paper is required. Please be kind to our environment.
