Beautiful beach! Easy access to beach! Clean and comfortable accommodations! View obstructed due to dunes but still very short walk over dunes to beautiful beach.

Perfect location

We have stayed at the Salt Shack several times in the past. You can’t beat the location! The unit did not appear as clean as with previous stays…especially floors and countertops. But during this stay we encountered numerous water bugs (roaches) even on bed.

Oak Island beach retreat

We were pleased with the facilities. Plenty of space, attractive, clean. The only problem for us (adults over 80) was that there were more steps up to the cottage than the pictures indicated. That was a problem for my husband. From the pictures in the advertisement, we were assuming 2-4 steps at most.

The Salt Shack

House was clean, and perfect for our little family. We had no issues the entire time we were there. And to our surprise there was a small washer and dryer! I was a little worried because it was not listed as having one. We walked almost everywhere and the beach is just a few steps away. Very satisfied with our stay and plan to stay again sometime.
