Welcome to The Lake House! Enjoy wonderful sunsets from a lakefront home located on the east side of Burt Lake. The wrap-around front porch and balcony provide the perfect place for relaxing by the water, watching sunsets, enjoying meals with family, or just reading a good book.
This rental is a 2 story, 5 bedroom, 6 bath (1 half, 5 full), 5400sq. ft. home located on 75 ft. of lakefront beach. Plenty of room for building sand castles and hunting for Petoskey stones. The property contains all conveniences including a front porch, balcony porch, central air conditioning, fully equipped, NEWLY REMODELED kitchen (June 2020), washer and dryer, charcoal grill, cable TV/WiFi, and sea anchor.

Family Get away

Great views!

This property is a great place with a beautiful view of the lake and sunsets. It accommodated our family of ten as we vacationed and spent the week together. The layout works great with the open living area so meals and game time were so enjoyable as there is comfortable room for everyone.

Wonderful family vacation spot

We all truly enjoyed our stay. Property and lake are beautiful. Jeff was quick to respond to questions. It is rocky in front, so we would recommend bringing water shoes.

I have rented properties all over northern Michigan as well as being an owner of one in the past. I will say that this is the one of the best i have been too. Jeff and Anne the owners are very resposnisive. Their property is amazing! Incredibly clean and well kept! Water, beach, and a portable fire pit. If you want a property that is how its advertised and again I stress clean! Thank you Jeff and Anne for an awesome week!

The place to stay on Burt Lake!

If you are considering a home on Burt Lake, look no further! Everything about the rental was great, from communication pre-rental, check in the morning of, the accommodations, and of course the location ON the lake. They made us feel like this was our house and we treated it like it was. Just a great vacation home and we will definitely be back!

Burt Lake vacation

My family and I had a wonderful week at this beautiful house on Burt Lake. Everything was exactly as described in the listing, and the property owners, Jeff and Anne, were prompt in responding to any questions or concerns. My six grandkids lived in the lake and the big bunk room, and the adults appreciated the large, open kitchen, large family room, and beautiful porch. Plenty of room for all 12 of us. Also convenient to lots of “upper”lower peninsula locations. Would rent it again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful quiet location

Easy access from highway. Lovely home Vey clean.. we had a crawling baby and the floors were spotless. Housekeeper does a stellar job Only drawbacks were having to make the beds after arrival and it wasn’t clear to me that only the half bath is accessible from a hallway..all other baths you need to go thru a bedroom to use. Minor issues.. we had a great time

This house is excellent.

We had a wonderful week on Burt Lake. The house has everything that you need/expect. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. The porch overlooking the lake was in constant use. The location is just minutes from Indian River and convenient to everything in the area. The beach area was a favorite for hunting Petoskey Stones - and finding them. The only thing that was not perfect was the dock. We rented a pontoon, but couldn’t access it from the dock for loading and unloading. The three lifts along the sides of the dock don’t leave room for anything else.

Watched the kids swim with a beautiful sunset in the background.

I can't say enough about the property. Extremely clean and beautiful home. Out side of the Ohio State flag on the flag pole, it is difficult to find any flaws in the property. Go Blue!! Jeff, the owner, was extremely responsive to any questions I had and was accommodating to any of my requests. The house has a perfect view for sunsets. You can walk out about 200 yards on the sandy floor of the lake before you hit a drop off. (Do wear water shoes. There are a lot of zebra muscles that can tear up your feet.) I fished nearly every morning and had fun catching bass and walleye. The walleye made for a great dinner when I got home. The home is just minutes away from downtown for Ice cream with the kids and we took the boat up the Indian River and through the Cheboygan river for a day trip. Kids enjoyed the Cheboygan Lock and the adults enjoyed the Cheboygan Brewery. Many great restaurants on Burt Lake, Indian River, and Mullett lake that we visited too. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home.

Beautiful lakefront location

Wonderful, responsive hosts. Beautiful location with stunning lakefront views and sunsets from the porch. It is a special place. We were surprised that the main floor master bedroom had 2 separate bathrooms, which makes it awkward for anyone else to use either one. We expected a higher level of cleanliness - the frig was packed full of miscellaneous stuff and left little room for our own needs for a week's stay, the screen on the front door needed a hard scrubbing (which we did), the garage needs serious tidying up, and the cleaner could step-it-up. Nevertheless, the location trumps these shortcomings.

Great Home to Stay

We loved the home. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and there was plenty of space. The lake was warm and clean. We enjoyed our pontoon rental and boating to Mullet Lake. The owner was easy to work with, and we didn’t have any problems. Easy breezy and it was worth the cost.
