We had a wonderful stay at this cottage. It's got great character and all the comforts you need. A wonderful deck to soak up the sun and a perfect lake for swimming... clean, clear water and no weeds. A perfect stay in cottage country!
Lindsay’s rustic cottage was perfect! Her communication and service was outstanding, especially when we needed anything. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautifully situated rustic cottage
We had beautiful weather, hot & mostly sunny. The cottage was well placed on the lake, away from most water motor traffic. We had a great time & enjoyed our stay!
We had a wonderful stay in this rustic, spacious cottage! The lake view on the fabulous deck was worth the visit. We were able to dock our boat and use the kayaks provided. The bedrooms were small but the eat in kitchen and big table was great! The location is excellent- between Minden and Haliburton, close to get to farmers markets in both directions. The whitewater preserve is amazing and Tiki Tuesday at the Dominion in Minden was fun. And Suwan’s Thai food, also in Minden, is so good. This is a family friendly cottage- comfortable and casual.
My 2 sisters and a golden retriever and I had a very pleasant stay. The deck was where we lived all the time...view is gorgeous and the lake is quiet and clean. All amenities that you would want are provided. Although the cottage is rustic, it is very comfortable. Would stay again.
I grew up with a cottage in the area and was looking to rent a pet-friendly place, last minute, that was similar to where I grew up. I wanted something with clean, clear water, good swimming, and water boats included, with a rustic feel. Lindsay’s place was spot on! Full of historic charm (original windows and fireplace, full wood trim), and enough modern amenities to make it comfortable.
The view from the deck is stunning! I came out and went back in just to come back outside and be hit with that view!! The property grounds are VERY uneven - my elderly mother was supposed to come but she decided against it due to the stairs everywhere. Personally, I loved it!
The water was clear and crisp. The dock had a few spots that seemed like if you stepped wrong you might break it, but it held up through 3 kids and me jumping off it!
There was a duck that came right up to us, and hopped up right onto the dock with us!! He even nibbled our fingers and toes!! We named him Goose ;)
There was also a family of loons that called in the distance at night, and one of them joined me on my morning kayak ride too!
It was a chore to get the canoe out of the boathouse - very challenging indeed - and even putting the paddle boat in was not easy, but we managed. The kayaks are light and easy to manoeuvre.
For having the only heat source mentioned in the cottage being the wood stove, there wasn’t much Firewood. Almost felt like there wasn’t enough to use.
Overall it was darn near perfect!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this cottage - the view and location on the lake are second to none - the use of the two kayaks and pedal boat was a nice bonus - the included firewood was also a nice touch - I brought my sea doo - the launch site was reasonably close at Harpers marine - 15 dollars to put in and another 15 to take out - so not too bad - just be careful about the hours - they close at 5 pm - and at 4 pm on Sunday - the people are very friendly there - communication with Lindsay was amazing - she really wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed our stay - she even offered to bring us a life jacket to fit our 11 year old - but we just ended up grabbing one ourselves - cant say enough about the view from the deck - the pictures do not do it justice - my girlfriend and I sat there every morning for coffee - and we had every supper out there on the provided table and bench style seating
If you want to stay in the perfect location in a nice rustic cabin - then this is the place
Thanks so much again Lindsay

Hi! I'm Lindsay! My family and I are from the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region, and grew up in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. I am so excited to offer my family cottage for you to enjoy! I have been coming here from whole life and I absolutely love it. I am married to my husband Matt and we have 3 sons. My 2 sisters and my parents also enjoy it here. I know you'll enjoy it here as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
Our cottage is located within a beautiful forest, along a quiet dirt road. There are other cottages on the road but there is plenty of privacy. Our cottage is located on a large lot, one of the largest on road and has lots of trees for privacy from the road and neighbors. The location was selected by my great-grandfather in the 1930s - one of the first lots purchased in the area! It is approximately 10 minutes drive to Minden and 15 minutes drive to Haliburton. You just can't beat the location!
What makes this property unique
This cottage has it all: Charm, cleanliness, a gorgeous view, cute kid-friendly beach, all the amenities you need, and nature galore! There is a large deck overlooking the lake. You can also enjoy a spectacular view from our bonfire pit, right along the shore line! This cottage is perfect for swimming! Jump or dive into the lake off the dock, or spend some time at the kid-friendly beach on our property (we call this area the "rock" as there is a large rock to sit on as well in the water). The lake is clean and is home to loons and ducks who venture by daily. Escape the city and take in the fresh crisp air and enjoy the day on the lake! We love the cozy and rustic feel of the cottage, and we know you will too.
