Situated on a working beef and sheep farm, just 1 mile from the bustling town centre of Keswick, you can have the best of both worlds - a peaceful break with stunning surroundings, as well as easy access to one of the most popular towns in The Lake District National Park.
Newly renovated for 2019 and presented to a very good standard, these modern holiday cottages feature all the design elements you would expect from a 21st-century holiday cottage. A lot of thought and care has gone into creating the perfect holiday experience, with guests’ comfort top on the list of priorities. Each sleeping four, these holiday cottages are very welcoming for couples and families and can also be booked together to accommodate up to eight guests. As you enter Mary Rook Cottage, you will be greeted by a floor-to-ceiling glazed frontage which allows daylight to flood this property. A mezzanine upper floor, with glass balustrades, gives a wonderful feeling of space. The ground floor features an open plan kitchen and dining area leading to a spacious double bedroom with TV, kingsize bed and plenty of storage. There’s also a beautifully finished bathroom with shower over the bath. (Hot water is limited to 50 degrees) Upstairs you’ll find the spacious living room with a wood burner (logs supplied) as well as a second bedroom, which also features a kingsize bed, TV and an en-suite shower room.
Ormathwaite Farm Cottages offer a great location, whether you’re looking for action-packed adventure or just a relaxing and peaceful break, and there is plenty to do in the area. If you like outdoor adventure including walking, cycling and climbing, you are surrounded by some amazing scenery and routes around Skiddaw, Blencathra, Catbells and Latrigg, all within a few miles. Derwentwater, offering sailing and other water sports is just 2 miles away. The bustling town of Keswick is just 1 mile away, which is an easy walk, or a short 5-minute taxi ride if you want to leave the car behind and head out for a meal and a few drinks. Keswick is vibrant and has a great outdoor market; its bustling centre has an abundance of quality restaurants, pubs serving local cask ales, independent shops, with both outdoor and fashion brands. Plenty of delis, bakeries, coffee shops and local craft stalls are also to be found. If you like culture, check out the Theatre By The Lake, 2 miles, with arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater, where you can hire a rowing boat or even take a dip. For family fun, why not try Puzzling Place, 1½ miles, which is a mind boggling attraction based on optical illusions, or the Derwent Pencil Museum, 1½ miles, home to the largest pencil in the world.
