Avocet 28 is a gorgeous lodge beautifully situated at the water's edge and within walking distance of the gloriously sandy beach at Wells-next-the-Sea. This fabulous detached lodge overlooking the picturesque nature reserve and lake, which holds a David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award is well placed to explore the sand dunes and pinewoods that provide a fabulous backdrop to the historic port of Wells.
Sleeping up to four with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this beautifully furnished and styled lodge is in an unrivalled position overlooking the water and wildlife. With all the mod cons you could imagine, this private retreat relaxes you from the moment you step inside. Decorated in a soft palette of blues and greys, it is both comfortable and relaxed and light and airy and the sitting area provides additional accommodation for two if you are a larger party wanting to enjoy this unique location.
Situated on the edge of the Pinewoods Holiday Park you have fabulous on site facilities including a shop, laundrette and children's playground. The seaside town is just down the road where children (and the young at heart) will adore crabbing from the quay, the arcades or strolling down for an ice cream. Although the attractions of Wells will be hard to resist with all its eateries and shops, the holiday park is a great place for walking and cycling. Explore the many miles of quiet country lanes on two wheels or pull on your walking boots or walk barefoot to what must be one of the best beaches in the UK; the privately owned Holkham beach.
With cycles available to hire on site you won't need to bring them with you either. For ice creams and light lunches or just a coffee there is a good beach café within easy walking distance too.
Additional Information: One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Pinewoods Holiday Park is accessed via an automated vehicle registration recognition barrier. Please provide your vehicle registration(s) to Norfolk Hideaways in advance of your arrival.

My Husband, myself and my 86 year old Mom… oh mustn’t forget our Springer Spaniel loved our stay. Comfortable, clean, perfect location. A few things to consider… the number on the property wasn’t clearly visible, there were no detailed instructions about the TV Operation, we never did work out how to use Freestat ended up watching everything through BBC iPlayer. The hanging rail in the twin room wardrobe was so high my Mum at 5ft 4 couldn’t reach. Nothing major and all easily fixed, would definitely visit again😘

Absolutely loved it!
We loved our week's stay, such a lovely location and everything was clean and tidy upon arrival. Loved the extra touches of crabbing buckets for use. Perfect for our dog as the decking is fully enclosed. Will definitely book again!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent holiday. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with Norfolk Hideaways and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future
We have just got back from the most lovely mini break at this property. A brilliant location and the facilities were excellent. Perfect for the beach and town and exceptionally well priced and a high standard of accommodation. We will certainly book again.
Good chalet, all as pictures, it was a shame there wasn’t patio doors onto deck, would have been perfect. Needs a number on property, like others, had a bit of a problem finding it. Very comfortable and clean. WiFi bit hit and miss. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location
Lovely location and short walk to fantastic beach. The accommodation was clean and provided all we needed, with a wonderful balcony and view over the lake. It advertised as a lodge but is a static caravan!

Autumn break
Was looking for a quiet retreat for me and my husband. Found this lovely lodge in a beautiful setting and would definitely recommend to anyone. Lodge is really comfortable and well appointed on a very clean and tidy site only 10 minutes walk from fabulous beach, pine woods and marsh land. The town of Wells has lots to offer too. Will certainly go back next year.

North Norfolk visit 2019 - 2oth annual since 1999
Our previous visits to north Norfolk have been to various cottage properties. We have never previously considered the Pinewoods Holiday Park at Wells, having an aversion to such places with their hundreds of units. However the location of Avoct28 with its proximity to the coastal path, the woodland fringe and dunes and its nice looking siting overlooking the lake did encourage us to give it a try. The instructions given for finding the site, from the Park entrance, were easy to follow initially but did not allow us to get directly to Avocet 28 quickly. We subsequently found that the instructions do not give the best way! First impressions on entering Avocet28 are very good. Inside was hot requiring the opening of windows but we were disappointed to find that the large window with the view of the lake was not a 'patio style' door as expected (an obvious expectation) but was in fact fixed. I would thick that keeping the interior cool in high summer temperatures could be difficult. Although the interior had rather the appearance of a smart 'show house' it did soon become apparent that some of the ;fixtures and fittings; seemed to have been chosen more with a view to appearance than functionality and practicability. Crockery included deep cereal dishes which shortish persons would have difficulty eating from comfortably;, very ''chunky' heavy mugs as the only option; large tall stemmed wine glasses and tall supposedly elegant champagne flutes which were out of keeping with the hefty wooden table and benches on the deck, some convenient smaller glasses were missing;, short and stubby coat hooks which could hardly take more that a single garment and were no good for caps and hats, one of these fell off the back of a door indicating that they were only stuck on; inadequate provision for hanging and drying towels. It did seem that whoever actually owned the unit had never actually lived in it overnight (something that we have frequently noticed with hired cottages).
Not unexpectedly, toilet facilities were cramped, especially the en-suite. We had been caravaners in the past and were accustomed to adapting but now we are in our 80s find 'making do' less easy than it used to be (particularly my wife who also has dementia). Our daughter, who was with us, found the second bedroom ok for one but iwould not fancy it for two adults
Despite all this we did have an enjoyable stay!

Excellent location, very peacefullively walks.,
Avocet28 is beautifully located by a lake .It was a treat to sit in the lounge area overlooking the lake.
Caravan very clean, comfortable and we'll presented.
Our issue with the internet was dealt with swiftly and successfully.
The area around the site is perfect for walking and being dog friendly was a real bonus, the local beach is beautiful.
Wells next the sea is a bustling little place with lovely shops friendly pubs and eateries.
It would be lovely to have had a veranda around the caravan to sit outside, but as I understand this is being arranged which will be a real bonus.
A really enjoyable holiday, didn't want to come home!
