Bus is only 100mt & subway station 800mt. Montesacro is a lively district with a true Roman flavor. From my house you can easily reach the city center by public transport (bus and metro) and still take advantage of a quiet space where relax yourself after a day of sightseeing. And if you want to go out at night, in the neighborhood you will find many nice places where to dine or have a drink.
My guests can relax themselves in the garden at their pleasure but being a common area of the entire villa it is requested to not disturb the quiet and to not use it during the night time.
I live on the 2nd floor of the villa and I will be available most of the day to guests needs/questions.
The district: Montesacro was built at the beginning of 1900. There are many of the original villas making this an elegant and quiet area of the city. In the meantime many nice places opened in the last years, from wine bars to restaurants. There is one of the best Roman ice cream parlor and some wine bars, tapas places like Anchimò, Pic Nic, Ponte Tazio and Mezzo Litro. There is a very old bridge, the Nomentano, existing since the time of Roman Emperors, and there is a small hill where the first strike of the Roman history took place and where Roman consul Menenio Agrippa made his famous speech known "of the limbs and stomach"(The Monte Sacro). Here Simon Bolivar "El Libertador" swore to free his people and Latin America from Spanish rule.
How to get around: There is a bus stop 100 mt. from the apartment and a Metro B stop 800 mt. away. You can take bus n. 60 or 90 to the center and Metro B to Termini Station, Colosseum, Circo Massimo and Piramide. From Fiumicino airport there is a regional train (ticket 8 euro) which stops at Nomentana Station, 1 km. away from my home. If you are a biker, there is a bike path few meters from the apartment which takes you to the new Auditorium (Flaminio area) and from there you can reach the center quickly and easily.
