Brand New Family Friendly House with Ocean views in 2019.

Tig Tomás is a brand new build and new to the rental market. It is a beautiful bright, spacious 4 bedroom house situated in the middle of a working farm. The house is open plan downstairs with an amazing south facing conservatory with views of the Atlantic ocean, Valentia Island, Cahersiveen town, Ballycarberry Castle, Caherghall Fort and the river Fertha. The house has two double ensuite rooms downstairs with a double and twin room upstairs and a bathroom.
A unique feature of this property is the fact that we have another cottage which is also on the website ( Donie's Cottage #1328718) so for perhaps two families who would like to holiday together yet have their own space this is ideal as the houses are roughly 80metres apart.
The house is situated 3kms from the town of Cahersiveen and is also 2.5kms from a blue flag beach. You are within walking distance of both Ballycareberry Castle and Caherghall Fort. In addition to these historical landmarks there is a walk on the farm to the Top of The Rock Viewing Platform which is a 550 metre gradual climb to the summit with fabulous panoramic views of the area. There is also a lovely fairy trail on the walk for the children to explore with fairy houses dotted along the way.

My family spent a week here and really enjoyed it. Aldi grocery store nearby, nice walks, good location for Ring of Kerry and a bit farther (but doable) Dingle Pennisula.

Beautiful View, Great Location

First, if you want to know what real Ireland is, this is it! House in the country with amazing views and sunsets. There is a little town within 10 minutes for stores and restaurants. The hosts were super sweet! Love the sheep and chickens. We will reccomend this house to everyone we know that wants to visit Ireland.

This was our second time staying at Gillian & Mike’s place. We loved it the first time and it certainly did not disappoint the second time. Really we could not recommend enough. Gillian & Mike are fantastic hosts, communication prior to arrival and throughout the stay was great. The house is a brilliant set up, we had two families staying and there is plenty of space & very well kitted out. The views from the property are unbelievable with great beaches only minutes away. Thank you once again Gillian and Mike for another fantastic week.

What a House, wow !!!

This house is one of the best we have ever stayed in, a very warm, bright and friendly house, which is rarely seen in Ireland. We felt very comfortable, the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. This summer / winter garden is a highlight, everything is there, what is needed. We highly recommend it. The area and the view can not be beat. July Week 2022

We stayed in Gillian and Mike’s house for one week in July. There were 7 of us staying. The house was very modern and clean with amazing views. It was equipped with everything we needed and we had plenty of room. Gillian was very helpful and gave us lots of information on the local area. We really enjoyed our visits from the chickens in the evenings and the sounds of the sheep in the field nearby. We were delighted when Gillian called one evening with some freshly laid eggs. The house is very close to Cahersiveen and is in a perfect location. There is so much to do in the area. We were very lucky with the weather and would definitely love to stay again.

Phantastischer Blick in einem wunderschönen Haus

Wir erlebten wunderbare Tage in Cahirsiveen. Der wunderbare Blick auf die Bucht ließen uns den Alltag vergessen und uns zur Ruhe kommen. Das Beobachten der Schafe auf den Wiesen unterhalb des Hauses war faszinierend. Beim Nachbarn (Großhändler) konnten wir tollen frischen Fisch zu günstigem Preis kaufen und genießen. Der Einkauf von Lebensmitteln im 3,5 km entfernten Cahirsiveen ist im SuperValu und Aldi sehr gut möglich. Abends gibt es dort auch Pubs. Wer Ruhe sucht, kann dort Erholung finden. Vielen Dank für alles

Ein Traum zum Anfassen.

Ein tolles Haus in traumhafter Lage. Die einzelnen Räume sind sehr freundlich und zweckmäßig gestaltet. Die Bäder sind modern und im top Zustand. Das Wohnzimmer überzeugt durch seine Größe und Gemütlichkeit. Die Küche lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Der Preis ist vollkommen gerechtfertigt. Die Stellplätze vor der Tür bieten ausreichend Platz für bis zu 3 Autos. Der Blick aus dem Wintergarten ist sagenhaft schön. Die Gastfamilie ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank für alles. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

July week 2021

Fantastic house. Pretty much brand new, the views were amazing and so much to do in the local area. Weather was mixed but still loads to do and loads of space for 4 adults and 4 children. The kids loved the sheep farm as well. Gillian and Mike couldn’t have been better hosts, had the house set up brilliantly and lots of local insights for us for activities to do. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Relaxed stay in beautiful Kerry

Myself and my husband stayed here for two weeks We were unfortunate with changeable weather but we still managed to enjoy ourselves The house is really comfortable and warm and we lit a log fire on some evenings even though it was June Gillian and Mike were very welcoming. One suggestion would be to provide a welcome pack or some scones etc

We had an amazing week in Cahersiveen. The house was beautifully laid out and very well kept. We spent most of our time in the lovely conservatory with spectacular views. Beautiful house with breathtaking views

My family & I (wife, 3 kids aged 9, 7 & 4 & my parents) all spent a week staying at Mike & Gillian’s. The house itself is spacious, well equipped & has the most amazing views across to Valentia Island. Both Gillian & Mike were incredibly friendly & welcoming, communication before our arrival was excellent with prompt replies to our questions & Gillian came down to meet us when we arrived & she was able to give us great advice on what to see and do in the area. We had an excellent week weather wise & spent the time exploring the stone forts (which are within walking distance of the house), walked the fairy trail to the ‘top of the rock’ viewing platform which is behind the house (the kids loved finding the fairy houses) & jumping off the pier which is a 2 minute drive from the house. The Kerry Cliffs, Portmagee (where the boats leave for the Skelligs), Skellig Chocolate Factory & Valentia Island are all just a short drive away. The house is a brilliant base for exploring the fantastic sights around the Ring of Kerry & the perfect place to relax & unwind taking in the breathtaking scenery from the sunroom or garden. A massive thank you for hosting us Gillian & Mike, we all had a blast!!

Although this house is a brand new build and therefore we have no reviews from guests please feel free to check out our reviews for Donie's Cottage #1328718 as we have been renting through this website for the past 6 years.
The house is a new build and has been finished to a very high spec. It is a bright, warm house situated on the side of the mountain with amazing views from every room. The open plan living area has a wood burning stove with a back boiler and there is constant hot water with the air to water heat system. There is a fabulous Conservatory which can be closed off from the living area with two sliding doors for privacy.

What makes this property unique

The Conservatory is most definitely the highlight of this house where you can sit and take in the panoramic views The sheep in the fields in front of the house are also an added bonus as they graze just outside the window
