A beautifully converted barn adjacent to the owner’s home and located on the edge of Somerset’s Quantock Hills. An ideal spot for couples looking for a peaceful, relaxing countryside break. Situated at the end of a private lane, this 17th-century former cider barn has it spot on for a laid-back and tranquil lifestyle. The property has been tastefully decorated and has plenty of space for two. On the ground floor is a kingsize bedroom and bathroom, and then heading up one level you are in the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room, with French doors leading onto the private patio and countryside views. The property benefits from underfloor heating and beautiful exposed beams.
Pipers Stable makes a fantastic base for exploring the whole county with the Quantocks offering ample walking opportunities, from leisurely strolls to the more challenging adventures, including Coleridge Way. National Trust properties are in abundance, not just across Somerset but in the neighbouring counties of Dorset and Devon. When it comes to dining you will be spoilt for choice with so many local pubs dotted around the surrounding villages, and if you fancy eating at the seafront you have Watchet Harbour, Minehead and Porlock all very close by.
A very unique way of exploring the Somerset countryside is to hop on-board the Somerset Steam Train. This starts from Bishops Lydeard and goes all the way along to Minehead, and its worth jumping off at Dunster, a medieval village, to visit the castle and mill. If its stunning scenery you are looking for, you must head into the Exmoor National Park, heading high up into the hills where the views will take your breath away. Beach 16 miles.
