We traveled to Santorini for our honeymoon, and the Nissos House was the perfect little getaway for us! Its location is less crowded than in other areas of Santorini, which was a bonus for us. The house was beautiful, and we loved spending time on the roof enjoying the view! Our host was very accommodating and helpful throughout our whole stay. If we ever find ourselves back in Santorini, we would book this place again in a heartbeat!
Hostess was accomodating. Bed was very comfy. Nice breakfast delivered to our door each morning. We had been to Santorini a couple of times prior, so we wanted to be away from the crowds, but you will need a vehicle to get around Highly recommended!
Beautiful and unique home in quiet South Santorini
Place is definitely a trip to stay at. Property is gorgeous, has a great rooftop, kitchen has decent amenities, and grocery store is a short 5 min walk away through winding paths ending in the center of Akrotiri (where there are some amazing restaurants and a bus stop). We enjoyed our time in this cozy, stylish, unique property, and Kate with the management group was always available to help us when needed! Thank you!
Really good location. Just a 5 min walk to restaurants and shops. We had come to attend a wedding. We found plenty to do and see on the other days. We didnt hire a car and got around using buses and taxis.
The archaeological site and red beach are a 20 minute walk. But there is also a bus.
Would recommend a boat trip to the islands
There were two adult couples who thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very unique home. Very efficiently laid out. Our hostess was extremely responsive and gave us great recommendations for dinner.Just beware there are steps to both bedrooms so if you have issues with steps, you may have some challenges here. We enjoyed our brief stay and so appreciated our wonderful hostess.
We loved being on the less busy area of Santorini. Local market and restaurants just down the street. The home was amazingly beautiful! We cooked in several nights. There are only 2 burners, so you can't go too crazy~ ;). The rooftop was so relaxing. Athena assisted with booking our sunset sail - which was wonderful. Thank you for everything!
The Nissos house was fantastic ! Very authentic Santorini type home .. Katrina our host was helpful and very kind ! The breakfast delivered to your door every morning was so yummy ! Most of all we loved the views from every window of the sea .. we would recommend you rent a car to be more accessible to sightseeing! Really worth it ! Thank you very much Katrina
Charming recently renovated property in the side streets of Akrotiri. Accommodates 4 but my husband and I found it perfect for our 3 night visit. Rooftop views are spectacular and the property manager and her husband were extraordinarily responsive. We didn’t rent a car that probably was a mistake, but the host husband Socrates drives a car service and was always available. Great base to see the sights and enjoy the kindness of neighbors.
Nissos House is nestled in a traditional neighborhood of Akrotiri. This compact house served as our base for exploring Santorini without the crowds of tourists found elsewhere. We particularly enjoyed meeting some of our neighbors who were lifelong residents of the area. One lady even shared some of her baked goods she was preparing for a holiday. We found some wonderful dining just down the hill. I would advise that if you have mobility issues, you might find this location challenging.
We enjoyed our 2 nights at this location. It was small but very comfortable. It was clean and neat and the beds were comfortable. Our host, Katerina, was very friendly and welcoming. The apartment has uneven steps that were challenging to navigate so I recommend that folks over 65 years old might prefer to stay elsewhere. Akrotiri is the quietest village on Santorini. It is challenging to navigate by car. But we do recommend getting a car to see the whole island! Thira/Fira is about 20 minutes by car. There is shopping and lots of food options there.
Nissos house is in a small charming village, our visit was before the Greek Easter so it was not too busy with just one local restaurant open. The house was well equipped for a stay, if you plan on eating out for most meals. The beds are super comfortable (softer) if you like that. Movement from lower to upper level could be tricky for some but the roof top views are excellent. My opinion is a car is a must and the smaller the better, we had a smart car for two and anything bigger would be a challenge to park here. If we return to Santorini Nissos house would have to be considered for our stay. The host was super helpful and lives close by for any needs.
We had such a wonderful time staying here. Everything was super easy, our two hosts are an amazing team taking care of you every step of the way. Disclaimer: unless you are staying in the center or top of the island taxis are very difficult to come by. So just be aware you will need to take taxis to and from everyday or rent a vehicle if you decide to stay down south where the house is located. It is an incredibly peaceful little town with wonderful restaurants! Just be aware of the distance from some of the “main attractions” and be ready for paying for taxis (which our hosts graciously helped with!). There is an all called IMove which was helpful too (Uber app didn’t work). Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at Nissos House. It’s in a great location in a quiet village and was nice to get away from the big crowds. It was a short drive to the major villages, the lighthouse, beaches and more. We enjoyed exploring around Nissos House, taking the paths around the castle and down to the local restaurants and market. All of them were very good. Katarina was a great host, meeting us on the first day and arranging laundry service for us. During our stay, she was accessible via text and answered any questions we had. Nissos house is spacious for 4 people and has a nice rooftop that we enjoyed every evening. It also had all the amenities we could need. We rented a car for our stay and it was easy to park outside the house. Overall we had a great holiday!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Akrotiri. The Nissos House is a charming and comfortable home for 4 adults. The views from the windows, and especially the rooftop lounge area, are beautiful. We did some hand wash and hung it on a clothing rack that we moved to the rooftop. Our clothes dried completely in no time. Akrotiri is a lovely, small village with several good restaurants, shops and a nice market. There is also an ancient Venetian Castle that contains a small cafe. We were able to walk to the beautiful, black sand Caldera Beach. Our hostess, Katerina, met us at the house and provided many good tips. She also arranged for a friendly driver to pick us up from the airport, and take us back. We used the public bus system to travel to Fira and Oia, which was inexpensive and easy to do. We were very happy with our choice to stay at the Nissos House in Akrotiri!
This house is super cool!! You walk in and right away we were like “wow!” The stairs are really neat but you do need to be careful, for they aren’t your typical stairs. The beds are super comfy and the place is very clean. We never used the rooftop area, but I am sure that would be a fun place to hang out. We didn’t expect someone to come in and clean daily, but that was an added bonus! The house is located within walking distance of restaurants, ice cream, and even a neat castle with a beautiful view. We also met the neighbor who was extremely helpful when we had an issue with a tour pickup location. The property manager Kate was excellent with suggestions for places to see and explore. We had such a wonderful time here!! Renting a car is a must if you are exploring all of Santorini, but we loved having Akrotiri as our home base on the island.
The favorite part of this stay was its location.. it was so nice to be able to walk to the little village for restaurants. Driving is a challenge on the narrow roads of the island, so walking was relaxing. The small house also fit in with the historic neighborhood. The host, Kate was very nice and attentive.
Cette propriété est très relaxante, bien située proche d’une épicerie, très tranquille et avec une magnifique vue. Nous avons très bien été accueillis, et les lits étaient fait à tous les jours. Merci.
Super nice lodging, well located and with nice hosts! The beds are super comfortable. Happy to have two bedrooms/baths. Small kitchen, but adequate for simple dinners. Full size refrigerator! Host left us a bottle of water and wine. Very nice.
First, let me express how wonderful our hostess was. She is one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting! The villa was lovely and we enjoyed our stay immensely. The beds were so comfortable! We walked to the quaint little village and had an outstanding dinner. Definitely want to come visit here again soon!
This place is cute and well designed. We were offered a bottle of wine and they had all the amenities. The house is slightly smaller than shown in pictures but it was more than sufficient for my husband and I.
Santorini, Greece what an Excellant trip of a lifetime!
As a group of 4 who are 55yrs & older with a bucket list of seeing Greece & Santorini this VRBO was perfect for the four of us! The owner, Katherine & her husband were excellent Host. They provided us 'Travel newbies' , all the information anyone would need or want & if they didn't know they would find out & get back to us . They helped us book a very exciting Local Boat Tour which we were able to swim in the Mediterranean Sea & it's most beautiful turquoise waters! We ate this most quintessential Santorini family resturant situated just a short walk from our VRBO. The food was perfect, all freshly made each day & inches away from the shore.
The VRBO house was was part of a very amazing hilltop neighborhood, where all houses were white & well kept. Feeling safe was very easy in this neighborhood, which important since the four of us loved to walk & explore. Katherine, the owner gave us excellant direction for our travels around the city. One day, she was our personal tour guide for the area. The house we stayed incredibly white & very unique. All the houses in the area had concrete interiors, very different from where we live in the Midwest!, Yet , a person could keep cool durning the day & evening. We had two bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. A small kitchen with a sink, countertops, table & fridge. It is smaller than what we are use to, but our objective was sightsee, not stay in! The upstairs has a door that leads to an outside rooftop with a sofa meant for stargazing & hanging with best friends & being in Santorini. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your VROB. All the best to you, hubby HIU& baby Nicolas! Your 4 friends from Kansas City, MO.
