Such a great place to stay!
This was such a great place to stay! With 5 kids, it's hard to find places to accommodate us and still have room. This place was not only roomy but clean and comfortable! The customer service was also impeccable! The kids loved playing in the stream and exploring around the property as well as the great firepit! I would definitely recommend this house and would also stay here again!
This gem of a home is perfect place to relax and unplug. You are close to several area attractions within a short drive in any direction. At the end of your day exploring, you are welcomed back to enjoy nature surrounding you.
Our time together at "Granny's House" was perfect. The house was incredibly clean and everything has been updated. We had everything that we needed for a perfect week! Heidi went above and beyond to be sure all of our questions were answered and even gave us great advice on places to visit and eat. We could not have loved this house more and HIGHLY recommend it for any family. It was awesome!
Corner of Heaven on Earth
We had such an amazing time at the cabin around 4th of July, escaping scorching heat of Florida to find this place which had long sleeve temperatures in the morning and at night.
Very nice property and at location away from the city craziness.
We enjoyed barbecuing, making smores around the fire pit, star gazing without the city lights, eating blueberries and raspberries, taking strolls on the property listening to the birds, and the calming sound of the stream, listening to the crickets and frogs in the evening and enjoying the fireflies' light show.
Enjoyed the cozy cabin, quite large for the five of us, enjoyed the fireplace, spent lots of time on the porch enjoying nature.
Close to amazing trails, we enjoyed the easier, but also very rewarding ones, amazing waterfalls and views.
Absolutely excellent stay for a snow tubing weekend!
We had such a fantastic time at Granny’s House this weekend. We came for snow tubing with our 8, 9 and 11 year olds. Jonas Ridge was an excellent snow tubing experience, and just five minutes away! The accommodations were so clean and cozy. No detail was missed! The beds were so comfortable and the spaces were laid out very well. Honestly, the pictures were good but it was even better in person. Even in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the grounds are still beautiful. My kids loved finding rocks in the creek and swinging on the front porch. At Heidi’s recommendation we had the BEST meal at Famous Louise’s Rockfish Restaurant. We enjoyed a trip into town and definitely would return to do some things we missed. Overall, one of the best VRBO experiences we have had. Thanks for a fantastic weekend!
We enjoyed our time at granny’s and found it to be more spacious than expected. I am very picky about cleanliness and the cottage was the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in. It was very comfortable and cozy. The linens, both bath towels and bedding were very clean, soft and smelled amazing. We enjoyed the hiking trails nearby, Linville Falls, Linville Gorge and Grandfather Mountain, all were a very short drive. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. We loved the setting and the little creek that runs through the property. And the front porch swing!! We’d definitely stay here again. We loved everything about it!!
Very clean, well appointed house as described. Close proximity to the BR Parkway and nearby hiking trails. We cooked our breakfast and dinner meals using the kitchen and well stocked kitchen. Everything was great!
You will not regret booking this property. From the location to the creek to the front porch swing-it is both beautiful and peaceful. The home is set up nicely and everything is thought of to make the stay relaxing.
We LOVED this property! It fit all of us easily and it was in the perfect location! Close to lots of attractions in the area, but on a quiet road so you can sit out on the front porch swing and not hear too much road noise. Check-in and Check-out process is super smooth and Heidi, the owner, is very friendly! She was very easy to get ahold of to answer any questions we had about the house or the area. We will definitely stay here again when/if we make it back up to the area! Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and the bed we slept in was very comfortable. Plenty of land (I believe the property is 5 acres) to walk and explore if the weather is nice—we didn’t get that lucky, but maybe next time! ☺️ An excellent stay! 10/10 recommend!
We loved this property! Kids enjoyed playing around the creek. Plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults to have some quiet time. Our favorite room was the sitting area with the fire place. Will stay here again ❤️
Just what we needed for the occasion. Very clean and cozy. Only 10 minutes from town but far enough to be quiet. Had everything we needed. Will stay again in the spring. Would like to be able to raise the windows and listen to the stream. It was a bit too cold for that during our stay.
The house was nice and cozy and had everything that we needed for our stay. The location was good, not too close or too far from the places we wanted to visit. The only problem was the wifi was not good and skipped a lot when watching tv and dvd. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
The property was very clean and well maintained. We were in the perfect location for everything that we wanted to do. Heidi was wonderful and very responsive. We hope to return again in the spring.
This house has everything you need and is very clean and comfy to hang out in. Great location in relation to Linville and Grandfather Mtn. Highly recommend.
The property was beautiful and we had a great time! Although the weather was rainy most of the weekend we enjoyed watching a movie on the TV, playing games inside and just enjoying family time. The rain did clear up for a bit to make it to the falls which we loved to hike and was just around the corner on the property. It felt like we went on a trip to our Grandma's house. :)
The house was beautiful and so clean! The pictures don’t do it justice. Only a few minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, tasty food, beautiful hikes and fun tourist visits! We loved it.
This is a great little spot that's nice and secluded. We were looking for a place that was quiet and private, and it more than fit the bill. Lots of space and comfortable seating inside and plenty of amenities, with a porch swing and fire pit outside as well. The place just has a very good vibe and is well-maintained. And should you need to contact the property owner for any reason or with a question, she is super-responsible and helpful. I normally do not write reviews, but can recommend this location very highly!
The location is ideal located right near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, Grandfather Mountain and many other attractions. The home was great, clean, recently remodeled, impressed with the amount of space that the home offers!
Loved the house. It was in a prime location for all the hiking we did. The house was very clean, well maintained, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I wish I would have known was that there wasn't firewood provided for the firepit. If we would have known, we would have brought some or bought some on the way into town. Not a big deal, but just something others might want to consider. Still a five-star experience though.
Very convenient to Linville Gorge and Wiseman's View
Very clean with modern appliances. However the beds could use an upgrade. Our friends stayed in the bedroom with a desk, but commented that the bed was very squeaky with every move. We stayed in the room that we thought had a standard size bed, but it was too short for someone 5'7", let alone for my husband who is 6'. I noticed that the headboard tilted inward when we arrived that evening, but only discovered the issue that night when this bed also squeaked. The second night was the roughest when the slats shifted and a corner of the bed fell. My husband is mechanical so discovered what the issue was and fixed it in the early portion of the night. However, sleep was difficult. The 3rd and 4th night he slept on the couch, since the twin beds were also too short. Would we return and rent, again? If the beds are upgraded.
Enjoyed the fire pit outside. Traffic outside the front door could be bothersome.
The house was immaculate and the communication with the owner was effortless. The location is ideal for exploring the area.

Born and raised right here in Jonas Ridge!
Why they chose this property
This property belonged to my precious grandparents... so many wonderful childhood memories were made here and I am so happy to be able to share this warm and cozy homestead with you! My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable home for other families to make special memories in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of NC.
What makes this property unique
This property is special thanks to the serene mountain streams that run across the property, combined with a large yard area for families to play outside together. Covered porches provide a cool place to relax after a long day of exploring the blue ridge mountains.
