About this property
2 Bedroom Cave Suite in Ammoudi Bay
The sound and smell of the sea, the view of the majestic and colourful volcanic rock, and the picturesque seafood tavernas, add up to the vibrancy of this unique location!
"Nicoletta Ammoudi Suites" is a 19th century building made out of volcanic rock. One of the most unique attributes of this accommodation is that it is situated right at the seafront. It is the first house you meet when arriving at Ammoudi Bay by car and its entrance is by the sea. The building comprises of three newly renovated apartment suites. Each suite is completely autonomous with a separate entrance and private veranda.
"Nicoletta Ammoudi Suite C" is located at the upper floor of the building. Its most unique attribute is its traditional cave house style. Ammoudi Suite C is truly carved in the volcanic rock. The suite offers two private bedrooms each one with a double bed. The living room is open-plan and incorporates a fully equipped kitchenette and dining area. In case there is need for an extra bed, the couch in the living room can be used as a single bed. "Ammoudi Suite C" offers a private terrace, and a second shared terrace, that features a shared plunge pool. The plunge pool and the second terrace are shared between the 3 suites.
Ammoudi bay is a small fishermen’s port situated just below the village of Oia, at the foot of the caldera cliffs. Ammoudi bay is accessible from Oia via the new road that winds down the hill and ends up right outside the doorstep of Nicoletta Ammoudi Suites. It is a 3-minute car ride from Oia and a 25-minute car ride from Fira, the capital city of Santorini. For romantics or exercise lovers there is an alternative option - one can use the steps that connect Ammoudi Bay directly with the centre of Oia. It is a 15-20 minute walk up and a 10-minute walk down. Ammoudi Bay is famous for its fish tavernas, which not only serve excellent fish, but also traditional local specialties. Furthermore, Ammoudi Bay is the starting point for most of the sailing tours that are the ideal way to discover the hidden splendours of the island. You can also go swimming in Ammoudi Bay at one of Santorini's most popular spots for cliff jumping! Ammoudi bay is the alternative solution for Santorini visitors - it combines the unique and exquisite village of Oia with the sea only a step away.
Finally, the "Nicoletta Ammoudi Suites" building is very special since it has been in Nicoletta's family for many generations. Nicoletta's family used to be in the shipping business, and Ammoudi Bay used to be a commercial port. The suites' building used to be a large storage, where Nicoletta's family would store their merchandise, such as wine, which they would then take it all the way to Russia for trading. It had been empty and in ruins for many years before Nicoletta decided to join the hospitality business and restore her family's properties.
Nicoletta Ammoudi Suites offer daily housekeeping service.
Upon a reservation’s confirmation the Nicoletta is always available for any inquiries or pre-arrival arrangements regarding transportation, excursions, special occasions, etc.
Staying in one of Nicoletta’s houses, guarantees personalized and discreet service, which allows guests to unwind and have a carefree stay.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs. Nicoletta Nomicou

I am from Athens, however I have very close ties with two beautiful Greek islands Santorini and Patmos.
As my father’s family is from Santorini I spent all my summers there. Since I am a licensed tour guide, in 2004 I decided to move to Santorini in order to work there. This was a great chance to start renovating my family’s properties in order to be able to share them with people from all over the world.
In addition, many years ago, my mother visited the island of Patmos, fell in love with it and decided to buy two beautiful pieces of land, including very old farmhouses in ruinous condition, that she slowly renovated. In this way, our family and numerous friends enjoyed many unforgettable Patmos Easters and summers. Nowadays, I am responsible for the good condition of the houses that I rent out and share the beauty and special ambiance of this island with our guests.
I am very lucky since my twin daughters, Alexandra and Christina, having completed their studies abroad in hospitality management and tourism, returned to their roots in order to continue and develop what I started. Genuine hospitality, love and respect for the island, as well as the embracement of the local culture define our core values. Nowadays we all share our time between Santorini, Patmos and Athens, and have the honor and pleasure to share our family’s story and our love for these islands, with visitors from all over the world.
