Getting into the property was difficult, but then we had phone issues and could not contact the individual who was supposed to come over and let us in. Vrbo did not respond to my frantic email (the only way I could communicate -- I had let them know our eta, which was pretty accurate). A nice resident of the building called the very accommodating representative of the unit on his phone. There are four! locked doors or gates to go through to get to the apartment, and unlocking all of them was a bit unnerving because two of the locks are sticky. It's a two bedroom apartment, but only one bed was made up (which was okay with us -- but I had booked the apartment in part case one of us had COVID after our hiking trip in Cinque Terre and we wanted to distance.) I also booked it for the washing machine, but it was broken. The nice owner said it would be replaced on Saturday (it wasn't; we were leaving Sunday, anyway) but washing by hand was okay and the unit has a large drying rack. One bathroom smelled not so good and the flush valve leaked water. The other bathroom was fine! Overall, however, it is a pleasant apartment. A few fixes and it would get five stars. I prefer other neighborhoods in Rome, but this is near the Colosseum, a 24 hour grocery, taxi stand, and lots of eateries! Plus Rome is very walkable (:
