THE FOUR WINDS COTTAGES are cute Bungalows located RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE OCEAN at Mile post 17.5 on the Beach Road at 8310 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd in lovely South Nags Head.

Our PRIVATE BOARDWALK guarantees you a place in the sand with no one are sitting on top of you.
These cottages are SENIOR FRIENDLY. They are all on one level, with no stairs to climb.
They are ideal for small families, including the four-legged members. There is even a fenced in yard!

Four Winds #4 is decorated in a Nautical Theme.
Inside, you’ll find the living room with comfortable furniture and a SMART TV with DVD player.
There are also SMART TVs in the bedrooms for private viewing and FREE WI-FI internet access.
The comfortable living room has leather furniture and a Coffee Table with Foosball in it!
A fully equipped kitchen including a Crockpot and Blender is all you need to keep your hungry family happy. Or you can enjoy the yard and barbeque on the charcoal grill. Eat on the picnic table for your enjoyment.
This home has a pleasant Screen- In Porch so you can enjoy the Ocean breeze without those pesky bugs.

Not your turn yet for the shower? No problem. The outdoor shower has hot & cold water and is Enclosed for privacy.

Ronni was great to work with. The cottage was the perfect size for my husband and I and 2 small dogs. It had all you needed to keep house while you were there. The location was great with restaurants literally 1 minute away. Off street parking; very nice. Fenced in yard; perfest to just sit and enjoy.

The host is SUPER responsive and very friendly. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything anyone could need/want. It was a lovely time-travel back to a simpler time when going to the beach meant a lovely cottage, which was one of the reasons we chose this property. We wanted simplicity and comfort, not a beach version of a McMansion.

Such A Great Getaway!

This is our second year staying here, and it continues to be the perfect getaway! It's an ideal spot to bring our dogs, with easy access to the beach, and the peaceful, quiet surroundings make it a true retreat. The place is always spotless, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we need for a relaxing vacation. Perfect space for a family getaway

I am the Property Manager for Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust.

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. (Picture above). She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
