About this property

Trevethan is a comfortable smoke-free, pet-free property with front and rear gardens, located in the centre of the village of Rock. The village has been celebrated for decades for its proximity to an area of outstanding beauty which offers holiday makers easy access to beaches, coastal sports, exceptional golf courses and the kind of restaurants you would normally associate with London and cosmopolitan cities. Generations of families have been returning every year to this much-loved area. They came as children themselves and now bring their children and grandchildren.
The property is ideal for a family or group holiday. It sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms, two of which have en-suite bathrooms. There is also a large family bathroom. The property is all on one level with no stairs so is great for family members of all ages. It gets morning and evening sun and is within a few minutes walk of the excellent village shops - a first class butcher, deli, bakery, fishmonger, newsagent, shops selling wonderful clothes for sailing and leisure. There is even an art gallery. The beaches at Rock and Daymer Bay can be reached within 5 minutes by car from Trevethan. Polzeath surfing beach is a few minutes drive further on. Padstow, made famous by TV chef Rick Stein, can be reached within a few minutes by ferry.
This property is extremely well-equipped with two fridges and a freezer, a full size dishwasher, double oven and hob , microwave, kettle and toaster and a barbecue for outdoor cooking. It has everything needed for an enjoyable family holiday, including free fast fibre Wi-Fi and an internet TV. Just bring your Netflix password. Linen and towels are included in high season periods but can be hired from £12.50 per person in low season or visitors can bring their own if preferred.
Off road parking is available for 3 cars. A separate laundry room has a washing machine and tumble dryer whilst the garden has a washing line. Alfresco dining is a pleasure at this property which is inland, sheltered from the strong winds on the coast. Many of our guests return year after year.

Great property and location

We loved our stay here as a family of 6. Peaceful, well equipped, clean and really homely we couldn’t fault it. Great location too near to brilliant shops for all the essentials and more. Incredible fish and chips too! We’ll most certainly be back, it really felt like home from home which is what I love when going away.

Ideal Location

Great location and the property had all we expected but requires some updating of facilities . The bedroom near external boiler stunk of fuel all the time and was not good for asthma sufferers and the showers in all rooms want attention this needs feeding back to the owners please. This is why I reduced the overall rating down slightly.

The property is well placed for local shops and amenities. The garden is a quiet and sheltered haven, ideal for young children/ infants. The house is cosy and well equipped.

We started coming to Cornwall when our children were very small. They are now in their 30s and bringing their own children. We would think of no other place than Cornwall for a holiday home and were lucky enough to find Rock and Trevethan when we were in a position to buy somewhere.

Why they chose this property

Location is key. Yes a sea view is wonderful but so is proximity to village life and the ability to sit outside without experiencing the strong coastal winds. Just a couple of minutes walk to pick up freshly baked croissants and the daily paper. A 20 minute walk takes you to Porthilly and Rock beach or within a few minutes drive and you can be at the spectacular surfing beach of Polzeath or the dunes at Daymer Bay. Whether its hiking, sailing, surfing, cycling or exploring the county of Cornwall, Rock is an excellent base to start from.

What makes this property unique

All on one level. Open plan communal living areas. Four bedrooms (two ensuite), large family bathroom with walk in shower and bathtub. Separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
