APPARTAMENTO TORALDO - in the heart of the historic town center

The apartment is located in Palazzo Toraldo d'Amore. Built in the 1700s and attributed to the school of the famous architect Vanvitelli, is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the historic center of Tropea. On the vault at the entrance of the Palace there is an affresco with the family crest of the Toraldo’s.
The apartment, brand new and completely renovated, is equipped with all the comforts (A/C, TV, WIFI, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, autoclave and autonomous water tank) and is furnished with sober taste. The apartment consists of two large rooms with very high ceilings furnished with the philosophy of the loft: a large area used as a kitchen and dining room, a spacious living room, a bathroom and two sleeping areas on the mezzanine that allow you to share time spent indoors without creating enclosed spaces. The apartment has a total of five beds (one double bed and three single beds).

The accommodation is ideal for families with teenage children who can move independently in the central area of Tropea (ZTL) and easily reach the marina and all the main beaches without having to take the car. Although the area is very central, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful.

I was born and grown up in Tropea but I’ve traveled a lot, even in distant countries such as Australia and New Zealand and I can help foreign guests to understand the point of view of local people. As a Calabrian in love with her own region, I have the ambition to propose unique experiences and to show the traveler the lesser known, less touristic but truer face of my land, anchored to very ancient traditions that explain aspects of our way of being and to relate to others.
The center of Tropea is an architectural jewel, built on a circular cliff overlooking the sea (approx. 50 meters above sea level). Particularly fascinating is the round of buildings on the hills still there after several centuries. Several ancient staircases connect the historic center to the marina and allow you to reach the main beaches in a few minutes. To visit: the Norman Cathedral, the Diocesan Museum, the Church of Jesus, the Chapel of the Nobles, the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola with the garden. Highly recommended: walk through the alleys and openings of the historic center to admire the noble palaces and majestic granite portals.
Upon arrival, guests can ask to take a tour of the historic center with me and learn about the history of this ancient city. Not to be missed: a boat trip from Tropea to Capo Vaticano to see live the beauty of the Costa degli Dei; dinner at the “da Cecè restaurant” in the charming square of Largo Toraldo Grimaldi; the food and wine tour on the Poro promontory to taste the excellent products such as' nduja, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino del Poro and cremolata. All this will be proposed to you upon arrival and you can freely choose which activity to book.
