Fabulous location. Cottage perfect and lovely that we could walk from the cottage to the beach

typical Scottish weather, heavy rain and a flooded road when we arrived, sitting in the sun drinking coffee day two. Sun all week. Fabulous mix of beach and forest walks. Steamboat Inn a must.

Great to hear that you had a fabulous time despite Scotland's famous 4 seasons in a day. The sun always shine here, it's just that sometimes you can't see it. Hope you will be able to visit again before too long. kind regards Discover Scotland

A very relaxing week

The property was superbly equipped, with nice extra touches including wood and coal for the fire and free bird seed for the bird table. Good to find a compost bin too. The only negative for us were the poor recycling facilities, with all waste (including glass, plastic, tins, domestic waste and even bagged dog poo) going into a single bin. We were sceptical as to whether all this would be properly sorted and segregated by D&G Council. While we recognise that this situation is in no way the fault of the cottage owner, it was disappointing to see. We ended up recycling glass at a local supermarket and taking paper and plastic home with us to recycle!
