After a long day exploring, kick off your boots in the utility room and step through to the light and airy kitchen. Well-equipped with modern appliances, rustle up a meal and then dine at the large table overlooking the patio doors. There’s also a handy snug room so the children can unwind with a film while you linger over dinner. The separate lounge is also a comfortable space to sit and chat and there’s even a wood burner to keep things cosy on chillier nights. You’ll also find a lovely King size bedroom on this floor. From the lounge, a staircase sweeps up to the first floor where the remaining two bedrooms are located. Featuring a king-size bed and twin beds, both are a good size and adorned with oak furniture and windows that flood the rooms with plenty of uplifting light. There’s also a family bathroom on this floor. Back on ground level, a huge patio is the perfect spot for a quiet coffee at the garden table. The children can also run free on the extensive lawn and spot rabbits and pheasants in the neighbouring fields.
Take a morning walk along the River Yeo or head to the market town of South Molton (2 miles) and browse the independent shops and market stalls. South Molton is also known as The Gateway to Exmoor and the whole family can enjoy the moors and hills on foot, bike, or horseback. Alternatively, head 13.5 miles to Barnstaple and enjoy a show at the 1930s-style cinema or hire bicycles and explore the Tarka Trail.
