Villa Dolce: A characteristic apartment which faces the sun and the sea.
Villa Dolce is a characteristic apartment which faces the sun and the sea. It sleeps four people. From Villa Dolce you will enjoy a wonderful view of Positano and of the sea. Villa Dolce is 60 square meters (645 square feet). It features a spacious private terrace with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and winter heating. You will be at a short distance from the center of Positano, where you will find restaurants and shops. You will find the closest restaurant, a grocery store, the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi - Sorrento line at 100 meters (330 feet) and the closest beach (Spiaggia Grande di Positano) at 1.5 km (roughly 1 mile). You will reach Villa Dolce from the street level going up a 50-meters (165-feet) public walkway that includes approximately 80 stairway steps. You will not need a car to stay at Villa Dolce. If you do have one, you will be able to park it along the public roads (the actual distance might vary depending on the availability of parking spaces).
Villa Dolce is a house located in the upper area of Positano, not far from the state road. It is part of a group of houses built on the slopes of a steep hill which overlooks most part of Positano and the sea.
Villa Dolce is surrounded by the characteristic little white houses of Positano, each with its own small garden or flowered terraces and inhabited by local families and not crowds of tourists.
Even Villa Dolce has its own terrace, caressed by the sun all day long. While on the terrace, you will have a view which embraces an area going from the surrounding hills to the picturesque valley where Positano is nestled, not mentioning the view of the coast and the sea.
The terrace is the entrance of the house and stretches before the whole living-room and bedroom area. A small gate and a wall separate the house from the little pedestrian road.
Once on the terrace, you will notice that you have arrived in a special place: the panorama comprising the sea, the coast, and Positano will absolutely enchant you.
The terrace is the perfect frame to such beauty, with its glossy sea green terracotta on the floor and on the top of the surrounding white wall, a red boungainvillea which stretches out its flowered branches towards the sun, the white garden furniture, the large canvas umbrella, and vases with flowers. Right below the terrace, you will see the green of a small and tidy family vegetable garden, typical of the Amalfi Coast.
The terrace will be your favorite place in the house: while sitting outdoors, you will feast your eyes on a scenery of coast and sea; you will feel as if before a canvas with vivid colors which change hues according to the hours of the day and night. Spending time in the terrace will be definitely pleasant with a good book in hand or while having breakfast in the fresh air of the early morning hours, or even while dining under the stars! Terrace The terrace is 25 square meters (270 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a perfumed bougainvillea pergola. It is equipped with a table, chairs, a sun umbrella and two deck chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a splendid view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast. Please kindly note. The rental price includes: electricity; linens; towels. To be paid at the property:final cleaning EUR 100.00. Refundable security deposit paid cash upon arrival: EUR 100 (it is returned to you at check-out). In this room you will find a large television (local channels). From the living room you will be able to enter the terrace with a view of the sea and of Positano through a French door. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. Kitchen You will be able to enter the kitchen from the living room through an arched opening. It is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, an Italian-style coffee-maker, a toaster and a kettle. From the bedroom you will be able to enter the terrace with a view of the sea and of the coastline through a French door. Bathroom The bathroom is spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer. Here you will also find an iron and an ironing board. Amazing stay in this place! From the beach it was up a lot of steps but it was an amazing view. Perfect for a couple people enjoying their time on the coast!!

We loved our stay in Villa Dolce
We loved our stay in Villa Dolce. It was clean, roomy and comfortable. They were very accommodating and the view was stunning.
Villa Dolce was just as described. Location was perfect, beautiful views from the balcony and quiet but close enough to walk into town for the beach / restaurants.
Thank you so much for a fantastic stay!

Our stay was amazing
Our stay was amazing! My husband and I stayed for 8 days at the end of our three week honeymoon and we could not have asked for a more perfect experience! The view and accommodations were unmatched. Thank you to Villa Dolce for making our honeymoon a DREAM!
Apartment is located in a very convenient part of upper Positano. The AC unit made a huge difference in our sleep quality, and the renter was very responsive.
We so enjoyed our stay at this wonderful villa for one week. Our favorite activity was to look out the Terrance and enjoy the spectacular view. The villa is close to transportation, great restaurants, and we used the place as a launching place for our activities including a boat trip along the Amalfi coast and the Path of the Gods hiking trip.
My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful week at villa
Dolce. You’ll definitely get your steps in with this location but you are rewarded with spectacular views. Lower Positano and the rest of the Amalfi coast were also easily accessible by several near by bus stops. If you want to enjoy Positano without being right in the hustle and bustle, this place is perfect.
The villa isn't too close to the most lively parts of the city and requires plenty of steps to reach, but it offers an incredible view, good privacy and it's quiet.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the place and I would certainly recommend it or stay there again.

We loved our stay at Villa Dolce
We loved our stay at Villa Dolce. The view is unbelievable.
Davide [the caretaker] was a great host and made us feel like family.
Summer In Italy was helpful and responsive. Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Dolce. The property is perfect for a couple, the views are amazing and there is plenty of space. The AC unit was a lifesaver. Check in was easy - our driver from Napoli communicated with Mr. Antonio and he met us to help carry luggage up the stairs and into the apartment. It’s worth noting that this apartment is a bit higher up, so expect a lot of stairs. But honestly you should expect that no matter what if you decide to visit Positano. Overall highly recommend.
This was our first stop on our Italian vacation and the best word to describe this place is ‘Unbelievable’. A truly unbelievable view. At first, we were a bit intimidated by the steps to get up to this slice of heaven because we had heavy bags, but when I tell you it was worth the stairs I mean it. The manager helped us with our bags which was so kind. When he opened the door we audibly gasped. It was seriously a dream, a view that almost didn’t look real. Seriously the pictures don’t do it justice. It looked like someone painted a picture and hung it as the view. It was a 20 minute walk to town, but only a 5/6 minute was from a restaurant called Grottino which because our favorite restaurant from our 2 week stay in Italy. It was truly a dream house for a wonderful trip to Positano. I can only hope that we may stay here again when we have the privilege of returning to Italy. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Stay at Villa Dolce
Let me start by saying my wife and I travel quite a bit. The property manager, Antonio, was very helpful throughout our stay. He even provided us with a contact for our travel needs during the stay that was fantastic. Yes, the view of the ocean is splendid from the porch. However, the villa was a big disappointment. From the moment we walked in, there was a musty, stale odor throughout the villa. The owners have installed a Glade air freshener that sprays a mist periodically but it does not help. Even the bed linens and pillows were stinky. The furniture is very dated and scuffed up. The lighting throughout the villa is very, very dim. We've found many times it's the little amenities that help make a difference. The villa had tiny bars of soap and no shampoo, which is standard in almost all rentals now. There was an old French press to make coffee. Most properties now have a coffee machine and they supply the k-cups. There is some type of monitor on the wall in the bedroom that blinked every 5 minutes. It was very distracting when you're tired and trying to fall asleep. The lack of a clothes washer was the final nail in the coffin. We would not stay here again. The owners could invest a few thousand dollars to update and refresh the unit into something special.

We originally booked our trip to Villa Dolce in Positano in May 2020 but had to postpone because of the pandemic. Three years later (and three years older I should add) we finally got to go. Firstly, Summer In Italy and Luca especially were brilliant about allowing us to rearrange our trip. They gave us 3 years to reschedule which was really appreciated.
Now then, you’ll see from other reviews that there are a lot of steps up to the apartment, approximately 80 stairway steps, but be prepared (pack light!) and don’t be put off, they get a little bit easier as time goes on (and think of the workout for those glutes!). Just take them slowly and you’ll soon be tripping up those steps like a mountain goat.
The apartment itself honestly has everything you might need, and it really is the perfect place to relax. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The standout thing is the view which is just breathtaking. Sitting on the terrace every evening with a glass of wine and some cheese, watching the view change was one of the highlights of our trip.
We were there for Napoli winning the Serie A (and missed the Giro d'Italia by just a few hours sadly), but getting to witness such occasions from this vantage point was brilliant. We were lucky enough to get chatting with the elderly neighbour as he tended to his vegetables every day and being greeted with a ‘ciao!’ every morning, or a ‘buon appetito’ as we tucked into some cheese and wine of an evening was delightful. He even took to waving out of the window at us as we set out every day, which was really sweet.
Mr Antonio (one of the apartment managers) who was there to meet us for check in and check out was so friendly and helpful (he carried our suitcases when we arrived, phew!) and the whole experience with Summer In Italy was excellent. We had a brilliant stay, thank you.
Summer In Italy, and Luca especially were excellent. Thank you to Luca who kept us informed for the last three years since we first booked pre-pandemic!

The villa was everything we expected, including the stairs up to the apt
The villa was everything we expected, including the stairs up to the apt. You cannot beat the views and the location. Walking down to the ferries and doing day trips was a breeze. The bus stop was right out our door and a grocery store, a convenient store, and expresso bar were very close by.
Antonio [the caretaker] was the perfect host, whatever my wife and I needed he responded immediately and honored our requests.
My partner and I had a nice stay at Dolce Villa. Prior to our stay, we read reviews about the stairs going up to the place and man, did we underestimate....Highly recommend to use the porter service at Positano Port to help get your luggage up at least. It was about 10 euros per bag and we asked to meet at Bar Internationale which is near the VRBO location. There's also a bus stop near by that can help get you get over to Amalfi (cheaper fare than the ferry!). The photos of the location pretty accurate represents what you'll get! The only inconvenience is that we had faulty wifi throughout our trip and kept getting disconnected. Overall, we though it was an average/comfortable stay
