2/10 Terrible

A tad unhappy
We are in our 60s. We are new to Portugal. We are new to Lisbon. I understand that the flat is situated on the top floor of a terraced house in a historic area, and so the stairs up to it are long and steep. Handrail only in part. A real mission to drag your heavy luggage up and down, and dangerous. And that it is situated in a popular central area of the city. And that there is no contingency for a fire escape - the windows are too small. The nightly partying and loud drunken celebrations, meant we had to abandon the bedrooms and retreat to the kitchen diner to sleep on the sofa bed to muffle the noise. That worked. The flat itself was nice, clean and well appointed. But the electrics cut out, overloaded by two ac and a dishwasher, ‘because it’s an old building’. And the bathroom constantly smelt of sewage, ‘because it’s an old building’. It is cruel not to provide sufficient information when marketing this so we can make an informed choice. Then treat us as if we were the problem. Surely, a safe, adequately power supplied, none smelly flat with reasonable access and adequate sound proofing is an acceptable expectation? Apparently it’s not.
