The property offers the perfect base from which to explore all that the North Norfolk Coastline has to offer. There is ample parking at the cottage and many local restaurants and pubs within walking distance. We allow one well behaved dog, as the beach is perfect for dog walking. The National Nature Reserve at Holkham, Blakeney Point and Cley Reserve offer the opportunity to see wildlife in its natural habitat and are all worth a visit. From Brancaster Staithe, you can catch a ferry to Scolt Head Island, if you truly want to get away from it all and appreciate how beautiful and unspoilt this coastline really is. Or alternatively try the sailing facilities here. Don’t forget to stop and buy a crab or samphire from the hut on the hard at Brancaster Staithe or from one of the fishermen’s houses in the village. Everything you would want in a holiday let. Great location, clean, fully equipped, basically home from home but in a fantastic location close to a dog friendly beach.
Nice location, Hunstanton is such a nice place to stay, easy walks, access to the beach. Stayed in accommodation before, few issues, relayed back to host Mark but nothing that spoilt are stay
Lovely cottage, in a very quiet location next door to the golf course. Very convenient for the beach and to walk into Hunstanton. We would love to return.
Ideal for me and my sister and dog. Five minutes to the beach, peaceful location being a short walk or drive to an abundance of amenities. We are regular visitors to this and the surrounding area and loved the cottage. We would stay here again and would recommend to others.
We rerurned to the cottage having stayed before and loved it. Cottage is comfortable and in an excellent position for the beach and dog walks at any time of year. Also plenty of places to visit within a short drive. Would love to return again.
We stayed at Ridge Cottage for g weeks from Jan 12-feb 16 2024. On our arrival everything was so clean and perfect we just were able to settle right in. Mark was wonderful needful the way he always answered our questions immediately and with great advice of where to go. We enjoyed our stay so much we would come back again and also tell our friends and family about this little gem. Thank you Mark for a great stay.
Cottage was ideal for 2 persons, if there was any more there was no where for them to sit in the lounge to watch TV
Also a warning about the shower ceiling if you are tall you would have to kneel in the show because of the sloping roof
Otherwise all ok
Great property, good location but not 100% clean. Had to wash a few pots before use and lots of dust under the bed. Windows dirty and quite a lot of dust and cobwebs. The settee was the hardest, ugliest and most uncomfortable that we have ever sat on. It was large enough for myself and my sister but I can’t see 6 adults stopping there comfortably. In all we had a good week but the sofa meant we couldn’t really relax in the evening so had to sit in the conservatory.

We have spoken to the cleaning company regarding your comments and have asked for them to double check the points raised, we have also been and inspected the property ourselves to make sure that is at the high standard that we expect.
The sofa is less than two years old and made by Parker Knoll. We understand that comfort is subjective but we have never had any complaints from past guests about the sofa.
Had a very nice stay, Mark the owner let me bring my two elderly cats, who have to have medication, every day. Property is in a nice location, hotel and restaurant just up the road. Everything provided, nice garden to sit in, only one negative for me personally. The sofa is low but I am an older person and found it difficult to get up from, rest of property can't fault. Already reccomend to friends and family.
Unfortunately perfect location was the only good thing.
The negatives are
1. Patio door was broken
2. Upstairs cold water tap loose
3. Leaking shower hose on bath
4. Possibly a small blockage from bath as water did not drain very fast
5. No hand towels in down stairs toilet
6. No tea cloths in kitchen
7. Minimal toilet rolls for all toilets
8. Although the house smelt nice when entering the banisters where very sticky, obviously not cleaned!
Fortunately the weather was superb and with the great location we had a good holiday, but I have never before had to provide basic amenities.
We did find the layout of the property a bit strange having the large toilet/sink room taking up a good part of what could be a large lounge . This was done so that a third bedroom could also be downstairs but by doing this if more then a couple were staying there just would not be room for more people in the lounge. We thought it would have made more sense to make a bigger kitchen with a toilet/sink using up the downstairs bedroom and keep the upstairs with two bedrooms making one of the bedrooms a family room with bunk beds. But for just the two of us we had a lovely stay, and as it was the hottest weather on record the aircon in the bedrooms was blissful. We love the area and just wish we could live there. Wonderful Break !!
Had a great week. Fantastic location within walking distance of beach and pubs and restaurants. Easy for short drives to other tourist spots as-well. Would recommend.
