About this property

The Lodge Sleeps 6 - Private Cosy Cottage, Pets Welcome, Large Garden

The Lodge is an old stone-built, 3 bedroom Lodge house for the estate. Converted to provide comfortable accommodation, it enjoys fantastic views and retains its original character. New roof Jan 2026.
Downstairs you'll find a comfortable living room with open fire and leather suite, a dining room, a modern kitchen, utility room with washing machine, bathroom (shower over bath), and the first twin bedroom.
Up the spiral staircase, there is the double bedroom (ensuite WC) with great views out over the garden, and the second twin room which has front facing views.
The cottage is set in its own ground, with a private, enclosed garden and parking for 2 cars within. You'll find plenty of space for ball games and the likes, and there is a large deck down one side of the house - ideal for long summer evenings!
The Lodge sits at the head of Loch Caolisport, and enjoys views out over the loch. Ideally located for those wishing to purchase a fishing permit, the Lochead Burn starts at the front door, and it's only a short walk to the best fishing spots. Fishing permits cost £25 per rod per week and can be purchased before arrival from The Booking Office
Ellary is a private estate, situated near Lochgilphead, Argyll - on Scotland's beautiful West Coast. As a guest on the estate, you have unrestricted access to the thousands of acres, just waiting to be explored. There are so many walks right from the doorstep (perfect for your four-legged friend), and if you pop up to the office, we can point you in the direction of our favourite sandy beaches and lookout points.
Ellary is ideal for you if you are looking to escape, and enjoy some time out - with 13 properties spread over 4 miles, there are very few people around.
Fishing is available to those who want - fishing off the rocks for mackerel is free, and we can issue permits for the Lochead Burn and hill lochs, to catch sea trout & brown trout - permits are £25 per rod, per week.
We are well located for bird watching and wildlife spotting, with over 80 species of birds (including golden & sea eagles), as well as otters, seals, deer, red squirrels, pine martins, badgers - the list goes on!
Photographers will enjoy the landscape the West Coast of Scotland is famous for, and can enjoy the frequent sunrises and sunsets that turn the sky pink. Drone enthusiasts will also find some great scenery to photograph, with no neighbours for miles.
There is a small practice golf course on the estate, which you are most welcome to use free of charge (we can even lend you a set of clubs), and there is also a private harbour which you are welcome to make use of if you wish to bring a boat with you. You will find lots of suitable places for launching kayaks around the estate (and the otters might even join you for a paddle if you're lucky!).
