Well furnished and comfortable cottage

The cottage was furnished to a very high standard with a fantastic bathroom, we were all envious of it. We were 3 friends using a bedroom each and it was fine for us but would have been rather tight if 6 adults booked it as the double rooms were not very big. If you are a light sleeper who likes the window open the front bedroom is to be avoided as it is by a fairly busy road, which the online listing does mention, the other rooms were quiet. The hosts who lived next door were very helpful and friendly without being at all intrusive and left us goodies which were very welcome. It was easy to get to great seaside locations by car (Saltburn by the Sea, Whitby, Staithes) and we did a walk directly from the cottage to the coast which took about 30 minutes. There is plenty to do in the area and if you are a bird watcher we recommend the RSP reserve at Saltholme (40 mins away) which is one of the best we have been to. We also spent a relaxing afternoon watching the steam trains at Grosmont Station where there is a team room. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
