This lovely Georgian building houses our spacious two bed apartment which is located towards the bottom of Micklegate opposite St Martins church, and within a short walk of everything in York.
The apartment is on the first floor, with a large airy open living/dining/kitchen room. The two double bedrooms are well proportioned and furnished and benefit from secondary glazing to ensure a good nights sleep on this lively street.
Well furnished throughout with everything you will need for a short break or a long stay in our beautiful city.
Micklegate is the main entrance into this walled City, and has a fantastic range of independent hospitality businesses, such as Partisan Bistro and Skosh to name a few amazing highlights. York is full of great pubs, winebars and restaurants, but there are a great selection right on your doorstep.
There is an allocated car park space behind the building included with the apartment, but the York train station is also only 5 minutes walk away, and the local council run car parks are good value, with the closest also only 5 minutes away. Pets - allowed Smoking - not allowed

Just got back from a lovely weekend.. the apartment had plenty of space and was bright and airy. Was a bit disappointed with the stairs and the landing area just wasn't clean at all and a bit nosy late on in the evening but didn't disturb our sleep. Plus free parking space and everything is within walking distance.. lovely places to eat and drink. Would definitely recommend though.
No problems with the accommodation, as described! Bath is very slippy could do with a mat in the bottom! Apartment is near to the city centre. Some noise but acceptable! Not suitable for anyone who struggles with stairs or getting into a high bath! We enjoyed our stay, watched some Netflix when we were in and found it well equipped for a good break!

Peaceful sleep not guaranteed
The flat itself was fine enough but the entry was not the nicest as the lane was a bit smelly and there were 100’s of cigarette butts in a box outside the main door way. The car park space was very tight but okay. Was a little worried about the car possibly being scratched or knocked but it seemed fine.
Night club ‘Pop World’ on the corner started their loud booming music every night from just after 10pm until the early hours, say about 3:15am, giving us, in the front bedroom, about 2 hrs of slight peace, as there is still road noise, before the street sweeper came at 5am. This happened every night of the 6 nights we stayed (Sun - Fri) so no good sleep can be guaranteed. Overall we enjoyed our stay in York itself but was disappointed at the noise levels throughout the night, every night.

We are really sorry that you had such a loud week. We know this is a lively street but with the secondary glazing we do not normally have complaints about noise. it was a very warm week when you visited so I assume you needed windows open as well.
Thank you for feedback about the rear entrance- we agree and do try to keep on top of this space but as a shared entrance it is not always how we'd like to welcome guests.
If you decide to return to York we'd recommend Trinity Cottage which is in a similar area but off the main road and in a quiet courtyard.

Lovely apartment
Good overall standard of apartment with complementary teas, coffee sugar ect would have to agree with a previous review that the area was noisy & in the heat we have just had you could not sleep with the window's shut, a free standing fan in each of the bedrooms would have been ideal, maybe something that could be looked into.. Great location & within walking distance of everything.
Again would ditto a previous review on all of the cigarette butts on the floor, maybe a cigarette bin could be bought between the takeaway restaurant & Wheelwrights?
Did use the washing machine & once finished couldn't open the door, had to pull it out from under the work unit & un plug, re-plug it back in so we could get the door open..
The toilet seat was also loose which would need fixing before it gets too loose & breaks..
On the whole a great weekend & would recommend this apartment once the niggly things are sorted.
Standard, location perfect for working stay in York

This was a spacious flat with all the amenities (including a washing machine and a play station or Xbox, board games, books). We arrived a little earlier and the property managers where checking on the cleaners (they have an office just up the street so easy to get hold of). So good standards. Really nice position with some great cafes and restaurants nearby and 5 min walk, and you are in the centre of town. Big spacious lounge diner. Larger bedroom at rear (view of car park but very quiet). Largish bedroom at front with the same great views of the street. Local night life can be a bit loud so up to you which bedroom you choose. We chose to eat in a few nights at the flat was so nice. There is parking but the spot is quite tight so not for the faint hearted. Would go again.

Excellent apartment very close to city center and lots of local cafes and restaurants.
Parking spot very tight and access to apartment via outside iron staircase, which may be difficult for some people.
In a great place although the parking in the allocated space is a little tight. Had a lovely stay with really good weather. Would definitely book again.
