Mostly great. Some A/C problems with no response from manager.
Generally speaking, Rome isn't the cleanest city. even some of the better/safer neighborhoods just look old, run-down and even trashy. The street immediately outside of this unit was an A+ as far as Rome goes. It was clean and tree-lined. The area to the northeast is nice but not so nice in other directions. We never felt unsafe walking around between the Vatican and the property but some of it was littered with trash. So, the location was great.
The place was very large with 2 full bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a big living room/dining room, full kitchen and very clean. We really loved the space itself. A little elevator was available and working to get the bags (and us after walking all over) up to the 3rd or 4th floor. The hot water was limited as was the water pressure.
Check-in was easy - the manager met us at the property and was very accommodating. We did have some problems getting the key to turn the lock and was told that is the best they had. Probably a good idea to spend an extra $5 and have a good locksmith make a new key.
We would definitely choose this place again but knocked it down to 4 stars because the a/c units in the living room and kitchen did not work. The bedroom a/c units worked or we would have been really screwed because it was pretty hot. I texted the manager about the problem and received a "not available now - call xxx for emergencies." reply. A I never heard back from her again on the matter, even the next day, even to this day.
