Amble is known as the friendliest port and a warm welcome awaits from the locals. Plenty of little cafés and pubs are around of all types including super seafood eateries and an award winning ice cream parlour. The kiddies may like to hire a little beach hut for a nominal charge available from the harbour master, located on the Little Shore by the Pier, they are a lovely little treat for a day. The market is busy on Sundays with visitors and locals and pop by into the little shopping pods and the Lobster Fishery to see how lobsters are reared and perhaps pick up some fresh seafood.

Trips to Coquet Island are a nice treat in the summer or a walk along the coastal path to Warkworth to see the castle and riverside is a nice morning out. Nearby Alnwick is the home to the famous castle used in Harry Potter, whilst the heritage coast line, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretches from here up to Berwick-on-Tweed. Days out can be as diverse as you wish, head over to Hadrian’s Wall or onto the National Park, or perhaps a rainy day trip to the Metro Centre one of the largest in the UK.
