Croabh Haven was a really lovely location, with wonderful loch views, and the cottage was beautifully furnished, and very well equipped. Matthew the owner had set the fire ready for our arrival which was a great touch, especially as we arrived on a wet evening! the ret of the week's weather was in fact lovely, with rain limited mostly to night time. The sunsets in front of the cottage are quite spectacular! Definitely planning a return visit!

Hi Fiona. Thank you for staying with us, and for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the cottage and the views. Matthew
Excellent service from initial enquiry to leaving at the end of our weeks stay.
Warm, well equipped cottage in a stunning peaceful location.
Would highly recommend
As a family if 4 (2 under 9!), it is always a challenge finding a holiday that will engage and suits us all - this one certainly did that.
The cottage was extremely welcoming and clean and the beds - oh so comfortable! A fire was already set in the hearth when we arrived, just needing a match - this was a lovely touch.
The view was amazing, so lovely to sip wine whilst watching the sun set in the harbour.
Lots to do too, we took a boat trip with Duncan, (highly recommend), spent much time in Inveraray, (castle and jail a must), lots of walking and even managed to take a day trip to the Isle of Mull. We left with a thirst for more. Highly recommend.

Very nice, quiet and clean accommodation
Clean and well equipped accommodation, cozy atmosphere with fireplace. Very quiet and scenic location overlooking the small harbour and offshore islands. A good restaurant with a small shop for the most necessary things right in the village, as well as a tea room. Highly recommended for a quiet relaxing holiday and many activities.

Everything you could hope for
A really lovely cottage in a great location, with amazing views. Really well equipped - and so clean! Couldn't have been more comfortable, and loved all the little touches that made it feel like home - our home, not someone else's! Lots to do in the area, and so a great base for exploring.

I hope you don't mind if I post an English translation of your Review here, for English-speaking guests:
Very tastefully decorated with love, a cottage with sea view and fireplace.
The cottage has everything you need, with plenty of dishes and glasses. The furniture, including the beds, were of good quality and were comfortable. With the open fireplace you can even enjoy any cold, rainy days. All in all, we felt very comfortable. Nearby (2 min walk) there is a nice pub with a good menu. However, the shopping is limited. It is about 20 miles to Oban, where there is a supermarket and everything else you need.
About the host
Hosted by Matthew Haggis
Matthew Haggis and Alison Hampton have owned and operated Islay Cottage since 1982, always maintaining it at an independently quality assured 4 Star standard. We love self-catering, and we love the west coast of Argyll.
Why they chose this property
Craobh Haven is a special place, with seemingly uniquely relaxing properties. People comment on how well they sleep there, how quiet and recuperative it it. They like the comfort and ease of the cottage, and often talk about the 'little touches' that make the cottage welcoming and, well, what it is!
What makes this property unique
Our guests mainly talk about the amazing views from the front windows (or when sitting on the wooden bench outside, sipping a local whisky on a summer's evening!) This is directly West, overlooking a scattering of Hebridean islands, which have the effect of breaking up the sea view and making for fantastic sunsets.
Many also mention the great walking form straight out the back door, and the huge variety of wildlife - from seals to red squirrels to herons to deer to sea-eagles - that can be spotted just out the window, or a short walk away.
