About this property

Surrounded by so much countryside, there is no shortage of countryside walks and forest strolls. The rural surroundings attracts a variety of fascinating wildlife such as red squirrels, woodland birds, geese and ducks.

The popular resort town of Ryde offers a varied selection of holiday facilities for all interests and ages. The seafront has children's fun-fair, amusements, bowling alley, Canoe Lake and much more. The wide, sandy beach stretches approximately one mile to the popular Appley beach from where you can walk along the revetment to the sailing village of Seaview. The town and seafront has a variety of shops, gift shops, supermarkets, bars, pubs, restaurants and cafes.
Ryde is the second major town on the Island and an important arrival and embarkation point for foot passengers. Ryde Pier (the fourth longest pier in Britain, at 703m/2305ft) is a prominent landmark with its passenger ferry terminal, railway and bus station. The Hovercraft that speeds foot passengers between Southsea and Ryde has its terminal located adjacent to the station.

The relaxing environment is ideal for a peaceful holiday on the Isle of Wight.

Generally very good. Weak spots were (1) no WiFi (2) parking limited, and when visitors came this provoked (presumably) a complaint from a neighbour re 'parking on the grass' (we were about 2 feet on the grass). No sure about recommendations (below) - 'yes' in some cases, 'no' in others. Perhaps 'yes' for short stays, 'no' for longer stays. We stayed for four weeks. One visitor commented on the 'lack of community', and another saw an opportunity for a small community shop on the park.

Loved the property bust Customer Service is poor
After arriving to a dirty property we attempted to contact several of the emergency numbers for IHH but received no answer. Problems were resolved but took an age to get the there and the customer service team blamed anyone and everyone for their errors, with hostile and rude interactions. The property itself was amazing and the owners had left books toys etc for guests to enjoy, alongside ample seating and space for us to fully relax. IHH let down the experience but top marks for the property and location

IOW Escape
One week was just enough in this lovely lodge. Owner left a letter advising of broken item which was nice. Lodge was clean, however some oversights, cobwebs higher up, cleaning above the top ledge on fireplace and above the bed on the ledge in main bedroom. This was rectified by myself by cleaning it! Lodge was spacious too Sadly we only used outside space once however furniture was maintained well.
