One bed accommodation with countryside views, near Snowdonia National Park
We offer a one-bedroom property, in a detached building, which accommodates two separate holiday homes. The accommodation is conveniently located between the stunning mountain scenery of Snowdon and the blue flag beach at Dinas Dinlle. 8 miles from the historic town of Caernarfon, with its castle and approximately one mile from Snowdonia National Park. The house has a modern open plan living/dining/kitchen room, with a TV. The bedroom has a cosy/cottage ambiance with a wardrobe, night stand and dressing table/stool. We have off road parking in front of the holiday home on the left hand side.
We are half a mile from the Wales Slate World Heritage Site. There are various paths marked around the Dorothea Quarry. The deepest part of the quarry is 106m, which is below the water table. A Cornish beam engine was installed in 1904 to pump the water out of the quarry, this remains in situ in its Grade 1 listed engine house.
A great location for walkers, cyclists, climbers, water activities and steam train enthusiasts. There is a cycle path nearby which goes from Felinheli to Bryncir. The mountain path up Snowdon from Rhyd Ddu is only 8 miles away, in addition to breath-taking views along the Nantlle Ridge walk. Rhyd Ddu is a station on the narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway, which was built in 1881. There is stunning scenery from the steam train with destinations from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.

A very nice stay, in a lovely part of the world. I would thoroughly recommend it for a couple who wanted to explore Snowdonia and the surrounding region

The location was excellent, stunning views, felt like home from home, very comfortable. Fantastic touches such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk there for us. Such a quiet area also. Definitly would return.
Lovely little cottage, with everything needed for our short stay. Located on private property so felt safe and secluded. Hostess helpful. A great hub for this part of North Wales. We visited Harlech Castle, Aberglaslyn Gorge, Llyn Peninsula, Caernarfon Castle, Plas Newydd, as well as abandoned local slate quarry site.

Thank you for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here, and it was lovely to meet you.
Great location for all that North Wales has to offer, from outdoor pursuits to tourist attractions. Ideal for couples wanting to getaway, clean and functional double bedroom accommodation.
A great little property providing access to Snowdonia with a local village nearby. Great to wake up to a field of sheep. property was exactly as described and was extremely clean. Great value for money.
It was all we hoped for-and more! Every single detail had been considered. Everything was immaculate. Our hostess was so welcoming Would highly recommend this place for couples.
I found the place to be remote enough to be quiet but near enough to places to shop or explore some wonderful scenery and places to visit. My visit went too quick, and I would consider coming back.
Rustic but has everything you need. An absolute steal for the price. We had the perfect trip. Loved every second and it’s beautiful nestled around the lakes!
The cottage is cosy and was great for a one-person stay. It’s within a few miles of shops (at Penygroes) and is not far from Rhyd Ddu village (and walking track to the top of Mount Snowdon). It’s also easy to get to other sightseeing areas - eg, Caernarfon, Bangor, Anglesey, Barmouth, Mach Loop, Dolgellau. And there are plenty of rambling walking tracks nearby.
We arrived very straight forward process felt very much at ease. Clare came over to say Hello & Welcome good to have milk Thank You.
I would recommend this property.

This is the second time me and my partner has stayed in Clare’s lovely cottage. It’s a beautiful quiet area and is a lovely relaxing stay. The cottage is perfect for what we wanted the whole process was very easy and Clare was very accommodating with any questions and even provided milk tea and coffee which was very nice. The cottage was very clean and the sofa and bed was very comfortable. There are many places near by of interest as-well as a shop. Our stay was wonderful and definitely would come back again, perfect relaxing holiday for couples.
We was met as soon as we arrived by clare.
Cottage lovely and clean. The bed was so comfortable.
The electric fire didnt give a lot of heat out but there was a spare electric heaterunder the stairs. The only thing i would suggest is maybe a throw in the living room just to snuggle under on an evening.
Me and my partner stayed here for my birthday this week and we could not have asked for a better place to have stayed. Clare is so helpful and she goes out her way to find things to do that you specifically want to be doing. The cottage was beautiful, the location was just gorgeous and super quiet. We are rwallly happy with the overall experience we were given. Thank you so much

I enjoyed my stay at Clare's so very much. The place was lovely, quite and peaceful. Clare has been incredibly helpful and kind. She went above and beyond her responsibilities as a host. On my first evening there, she picked me up in a remote town where I accidentally ended up, not knowing the area... I would recommend this stay. If you're a solo traveler you will feel safe and supported, and the surrounding area is so beautiful, with lots of walks and places to visit!
On the last day my girlfriend broke her hand on ice covered by snow as host done nothing, no salt just not worries and we have to leave in hurry, not even picked up food or canned drinks as well as the alcohol have to stay. One bag for rubbish provided only for 10 nights, not provided instructions what to do with items for recycling, no bags no bins provided.Extremely cold for the first two days as no one uses this House for a while.Blind bedroom on the first floor cannot be ventilated as the roof window is not opening and it is difficult to sleep after cooking a dinner due to smell and humidity, even the window frame on the first floor has visible damages because of humidity. Not possible to have healthy sleep over there where together with my girlfriend waking up, sweating in the bed even when it is cold in the bedroom, probably summer is even worse with the heat.Opposite property is a quarry ( is the view from the window) with multiple heavy machinery, 40 tonnes diggers, transporting stones from quarry heavy trucks , crashers and other heavy equipment used by the quarry opposite property, which in the working days will make noise not possible to have a rest or enjoy the holiday.Within a hour walking distance from property is nothing a part of walk on roadside.I advise is not place for kids as the area is very small with a 3 buildings and number of cars.No mop or broom provided.I was driving around to find the place for 1,5 hours as only postcode has been given.

I’m sorry to hear your girlfriend has had an accident and hope she is making a good recovery and feeling better. Around the time of your leaving, I was close by (roughly 20 metres away), but unaware of this. Had I known, I could have helped with information on which hospital to go to and directions, etc.
The holiday home was left in a mess, without any explanation, and as it involved extra work, a small amount was deducted for the extra time. When you were notified of this small charge, six days after the end of you stay, you messaged to say you were going to leave me a bad review and this was when you mentioned your girlfriend had an accident.
This would've given an explanation why the sink was full of dirty saucepans and dishes. I would have understood. Instead, nothing was mentioned, until you were aware of my complaint.
When walking over to the holiday home, soon after your leaving, I did not see any ice. We had a light covering of fresh snow that morning, which had a crunchy feel to it and was not slippery. A short time after your departure, my son and I were safely able to take down the outside Christmas lights. This gives an example of how safe we considered the driveway.
You say you had to leave in a hurry, the checkout time was 10am and it was around this time you left. At the beginning of your holiday, I gave you my phone number for any queries you may have. There are no excuses for leaving all your rubbish on the kitchen floor. There are blue recycling bins next to the holiday home.
We had given you information on how to find us. On your arrival, I showed you the information which had been sent to you via the Vrbo portal.
The bedroom window can be ventilated and the bathroom extractor fan had been turned off. There is also a kitchen extractor fan. You comment on the noise of the business opposite, which was closed during your stay and that the one double bedroom property is not suitable for children. It’s usually couples or single people who stay here.
There are many beautiful places to visit for walks, most are within half an hour’s drive. We are just outside the Snowdonia National Park, and six miles from one of the paths up Snowdon. The Nantlle Valley ridge can be explored nearby and many guests enjoy walking around the Dorothea Quarry. We have views of Snowdon, weather permitting. Interesting places such as Beddgelert, Porthmadog, Criccieth, Llanberis, The Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey and Caernarfon Castle are recommended places to visit.
