About this property
Gorgeous Stone Cottage with tasteful interior
Dene Cottage is a 3 bedroom traditional Northumbrian stone cottage, accommodating 6 guests. The cottage is hidden away near the tranquil Northumbrian village of Ellingham, yet just 2 minutes from the A1.
Located a short drive from the famous Bamburgh, Alnwick and Lindisfarne castles and Scottish Borders, Dene Cottage makes for an excellent position to explore Northumberland.
Refurbished in 2021, the cottage offers luxurious furnishings and is equipped to a very high standard.
The cottage is very private with an enclosed graveled area with seating and views towards the sea and rolling green hills. There is a small front garden which captures the evening sun and a large grassed area which overlooks the tiered graveled garden which slopes towards the dene.
There are two generously spaced double bedrooms and one bunk room suitable for children. One of the double rooms has a zip and link super king bed offering flexible sleeping configurations suitable for children or couples. The cottage has one large bathroom with a separate bath and shower.
The open sitting/dining room is a great social space and furnished with a generously spaced table for 6. The kitchen also provides seating for 2 at the breakfast bar for more casual dining.
The living room is equipped with a Smart TV and Sonos speaker for fantastic acoustics when playing music. The multi-fuel stove is free to use with a complimentary logs under the TV.
Parking for 2 cars is available on the spacious private drive. Plentiful outdoor lighting provides a welcoming and easy entrance into the property at night.
All modern home comforts are provided for including WiFi at 100Mbps, Egyptian cotton towels, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, smart TV and a SONOS speaker.
Sitting on the edge of Ellingham Estate (Ell-ing-jum), wildlife including deer, owls, hares and pheasants are seen regularly.
A generously sized enclosed graveled area immediately outside the cottage creates a great space for dogs to explore and relax among the outdoors unattended. Beyond a weathered wooden gate lies the tiered garden immersed in tranquil surroundings with singing birds and at the bottom, a gentle trickling dene.

About the host
Hosted by James Brett

Hello!
All of our properties hosted on VRBO are or have been a second home for the family. As a consequence they have been lived in by ourselves, ensuring they are fully equipped and filled with the modern comforts of home. Their locations have been chosen for their convenience and the beautiful surroundings they find themselves in.
I started managing the properties in 2015 and prioritise our guest's requests with efficient action and work constantly to exceed first impressions for a guest's check in.
I work part-time at a chartered surveying firm and spend all other waking hours on my start-up doing what Airbnb do but for camping and glamping.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Best,
James
