About this property

The house is situated in spectacular scenery in the Petit Luberon. Well located for sightseeing trips, Lourmarin (18 minutes), Salon (24 minutes), L’isle-sur-la-Sorgue (36 minutes), St Remy de Provence (44 minutes), Aix-en-Provence (45 minutes), Roussillon (49 minutes), Avignon (55 minutes), Arles (1 hour) Set in almost 4 acres of land the property is surrounded by the local ‘maquis’ with wild thyme, lavender and rosemary. The large swimming pool, built in the ‘basin’ style has been sited next to the olive field - within yelling distance of the house. Mid level This is the entrance level from the track at the back of the house. Open plan Kitchen, Dining and Sitting room. The kitchen has a large fridge /freezer, oven and hob and dishwasher. There is a kitchen table which seats 8-10 for use when it is too hot or too cold. The Sitting room has two sofas and numerous chairs - all furnished in blue Provençal colours. There is also a toilet situated on this level. The Terrace surrounds two sides of the house at this level with the front part under cover. This area is used for dining outside and has views of both the Durance Valley and the garden and swimming pool. It is furnished with an extendable teak dining table and ten matching chairs. The other part of the Terrace has two loungers and two outdoor sofas. Top level The top floor consists of one large master bedroom and one further double bedroom and a bathroom with a walk in shower. There are also steps up to the studio which should be kept out of bounds to small children, but it is often popular with teenagers Garden level The bottom floor which gives out to the lower terrace has three double bedrooms - one room has a double bed formed by 2 zipped and linked single beds. The other two bedrooms both have twin beds which are perfect for children or could be pushed together for couples. A small seating area leads out to the path bordering the garden and leads to the swimming pool. There is also a fully tiled bathroom with a walk in shower and toilet. This floor also houses the garage/work room where the pool loungers and pool toys are stored. An outside full size table tennis table is stored here for easy access to the gravel where it stays in shade for half of the day. One of the trees in the garden has a wonderful ‘horse’ swing which children love. The house was built as the last house allowed when the area became designed as the Luberon Regional Park and as such is beautifully quiet with local wildlife- deer, red squirrels, eagles and wild boar the only neighbours.. All bedding, sheets, towels, pool towels are provided and are of the highest quality. There are 5 videos on Youtube of the house.

Really nice place, great pool( it was unusually hot for our stay) great hiking right out the door! The lane in was very tight for the Renault van we drove but we were able to negotiate the turns
We have had a fabulous fortnight at the house. It had everything we needed in a beautiful part of France. The setting is so peaceful and everyone had a brilliant time!
We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely provencal home...beautiful and peaceful setting and well placed to explore the countryside. The road in was a little stressful as we had a large car but managed! Great time for all!Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Thanks so much for choosing our home. We enjoyed having you. The road is a talking point! Once you get used to it it's not so bad! You are welcome anytime x
If you are looking for a nature-filled yet comfortable holiday home look no further. We loved our stay. The house was perfect! Perched on the edge of the hills overlooking a stunning view over the valley. With lots of communal living spaces and places to chill, eat, play games and enjoy the scenery. We were with nine of us and it never felt like we were on top of eachother. The house is spread over a few floors and stays cool despite the warm days. It was so great to have access to the pool and to be able to walk out the door and be in the national park and surrounding forests and trails. I loved drinking my morning coffee, while listening to the birds and looking out from the wisteria terrace. Our hosts were attentive and we had on site support from Laeticia who looked after us so well. Sharing great helpful local tips and even when I twisted my ankle on a public holiday she brought some anti inflammatories up for me. So kind! The house is incredibly well stocked and the attention to detail of the crockery bedding and rooms makes for a really great stay. We had a truly wonderful stay would love to come back and visit again. (Photo one is the view from the terrace, photo 2 is a 5 min stroll, left out the door)
Good house with lots of areas to enjoy sitting around. The pool was a lovely oasis at the end of the day until sunset even in October. The manager was easy to keep in touch with and helpful. I would stay here again.
A perfect spot in the magical area of the Luberon. The house is perfect with gorgeous patios to relax in the outdoor woodland splendor. Paula was amazing and answered all of our questions immediately. It was a perfect stay.

Thanks so much for your kind words Donna. We try very hard to make the house comfortable and we are blessed with the location. You were a great guest and we would love to have you back anytime x
Beautiful home and setting that was very relaxing. The pool was refreshing for the hot July days. I would invest in a better road in. Four-wheel drive recommended.

Thanks for your comments. We know the road is bumpy, but that is the price of being in a national park. We have an estate car that manages it fine. We are continually lobbying the local council about it though and hope to have it repaired in the future.
Everything in the house was sort of not really clean (e.g. kitchen, floors, cutlery, fridge, pool, pillows).
The house cannot be reached by a lo (e.g. Audi TT) or sportscar because of the rocky and bumped road to the house.

We are devastated by this poor review, and struggle to reconcile it with all previous reviews and guests’ comments. We have only ever received 4* and 5* reviews before today, and our guest book is full of lovely messages and thanks. Our housekeeper has always kept the highest standards, and we will ask her what might have happened on this one occasion.
The pool is professionally cleaned and maintained every Tuesday. The automatic roller shutter over the pool is no longer as white and shiny as it was when it was first installed, but this pool review comes 6 weeks after the pool was completely drained, cleaned, and re-filled with fresh water.
Our house is indeed at the end of a track, as already described in the house details. It is in a forest within the Luberon National Park, and not anywhere near the main road. We, and all other guests, are very happy about this.
We only wish that this guest had reached out to us whilst she was staying there to resolve any issues.

A great stay in this house. There is everything you need and more...

What a wonderful review! Thank you so much. We have tried to create a ‘at home feel’.
We really hope you come again, we are making some more improvements this Winter, moving the dining table to another shaded area on the terrace, putting sofas where the table currently is and best of all, creating a shaded area around the pool. We are constantly trying to make things better.
Kind regards
Very nice pool and the house (although a bit old) was well equiped. Perfect location! A lot of privacy, nice surrounding and only a 6 minute drive from the city centre and mall.

Why they chose this property
This house is a wonderful space for families and is big enough to get some space from one another. It is cool in the Summer. It is on it's own surrounded by the mountains on one side and a stunning view of the Durance on the other. It is ideally located for trips to Avignon, Aix en Provence, Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Salon, Iles sur la Sorgues, Saint-Remy de Provence (Van Gogh country) and Arles. Most of these places are no more than an hour's drive. There are lots of local markets in the area which are so colourful to see.
