Charming airy cottage off Beach Avenue on a quiet dead-end street in Kennebunk Beach, yet is only a 5 min. walk to dock square in the center of Kennebunkport. Location 9 Wallace Street. Lots of windows to enjoy the breeze, high bedroom ceilings and a comfortable layout (living room/kitchen/eating area is one open room). Kennebunk Beach parking permits included. Outdoor shower, picket fence around backyard, Weber gas grill and private patio. Washer/dryer plus two full bathrooms (one with a tub). Perfect home for family getaway.

Everything about this house was comfortable. The size, the location, the beds and bedding. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking meals. It was IDEAL.

Great location

The cottage was clean and cute. Awesome Location close to town and beach. Very cute neighborhood and quiet street. Rob was awesome for checkin and made it so stress free. For the price I think a couple things could improve: clean washing machine (it was too mildrew/moldy for us to use), replace pillows whoch were very thin/old and fix outdoor shower. Other than those minor things we loved our stay and the sweet cottage!

Awesome Cottage in KB

Loved everything about our stay at Mere Cottage in KB. Short walk to town and very easy walk or bike ride to beach. House exceeded expectation, street was quiet and beautiful and the owner was available if needed (he wasnt needed), everything was great!!

Perfect home-away-from-home

Very well maintained, clean, organized. Comfortably furnished. Rob is so thoughtful; kitchen is neat, with appliances, knives, utensils, dishes, recycling and trash bins effortlessly accessible. His extra welcoming, caring touches are the various coffees and black peppers, and lemon seltzer in the fridge. We all slept very well --- so quiet a night; beds comfortable; closets not big but sufficient. Bathrooms very clean, pleasant. Good air flow and feng shui in the house. Backyard is fenced (great for our dogs), grass was cut, and I saw no poison ivy (sign of attentiveness). So convenient to walk 10min into town, 1 mile drive to Gooch's Beach that we enjoyed twice in 4 days. Rob was highly responsive, honest, clear in communicating about everything. Could not ask for a better host. We most highly recommend Rob and his Mere Cottage.

Quiet AND Convenient!

Awesome spot! The cottage location is perfectly situated between town and the beach... it has options for many vacation vibes. The outdoor patio was a nice private place to have breakfast or relax after the day. Bed was comfy too! We enjoyed our visit and feel relaxed/refreshed after spa-ing, beaching, exploring, eating, and shopping our way through Kennebunk. We brought our dog and were so happy the enclosed yard was safe to let her play. Thank you owner Rob for making us feel welcome. It was nice to know the owner was available if we needed anything. We loved our stay and plan to book again!

Kenne Cottage

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The cottage was clean, spacious and location was perfect (quick walk to and from beach + town). Our four legged, furry friend also enjoyed his stay and the fenced in backyard was fantastic. Rob was a joy to deal with. We look forward to returning!

Great house, wonderful location, very clean

We had a great stay at Mere Cottage! The layout of the house worked wonderfully for our vacation and the street is very quiet. We left the windows open and by opening the front and back door (each with a screened door), there was a great breeze even during the 80-85 degree days we were there. The house was very clean when we arrived and Rob, the owner, was incredibly prompt in answering my questions about our stay. The kitchen was well enough stocked for us, the grill was nice, and everything was in good condition. Our stay there was very comfortable and it was great being able to walk to town and quickly drive down to the beach. The only downsides were that the dryer didn't work very well and the private patio is really just a graveled area outside the back door. I can't ding the house about the dryer because we didn't let Rob know it was drying poorly (and the duct needed to be cleaned) until we were on our way out, but hopefully it works better for the next guests. A true patio/outdoor area would have made the house perfect! That said, these were only very minor drawbacks to an otherwise wonderful stay.

quiet location with nice layout

We had a great time at Mere Cottage! The layout was open on the first floor which made our time together that much more wonderful. The dining table fits six comfortably as does the outside picnic table. (More than 6 would not work.) The house has SO MANY windows which made for nice breezes on a hot day. The lay out worked out well for our family with my mom who uses a walker, able to stay on the first floor with a bedroom and full bath. It was great to have a washer/dryer upstairs so no running up and down to do the laundry. The backyard is lovely with a picnic bench under a large tree for shade. There is a house being built two houses down so am noise on weekdays was significant. I would imagine it will be done by summer of 2019. Other times of the day were very quiet. Such a convenient location within walking distance of downtown and a little further to the beaches with parking passes included. One review stated that linens were not included; however for us they were, including towels, sheets, and pillows. Toilet paper and paper towels were also included as well as garbage bags and dishwasher detergent. (Some difficulty with the dishwasher with my husband needing to snap the oscillator in with each use and a large burner on the stove not in working order.) I had not realized upon booking that there is a no cancellation policy for this location and had wanted to cancel when we realized that the mattress situation would not work for us. Rob made changes in the mattress sizes and so we were well accommodated which was very hospitable! Of note, check out time is 10, not 11 as noted on the site. Kitchen is stocked as noted on the site; however, more mixing bowls and pans would have been helpful. Rob responded quickly to all of my inquires both before and throughout our stay. Overall I would recommend Mere cottage for your vacation with family and friends with a nice beach home feel and plenty of space/chairs for this family of 6.

Great little old fashioned summer beach house.

We stayed a week with several friends, and love the location walkable to the beach and town, the sweet layout and interior, and the bedroom AC (it was hot the week we were there!). We didn’t love that there weren’t sheets and towels provided (we flew in), that was loud utility work in front of the house nearly every morning, and that the owner was at the house so often while we were there. We were expecting a little more quiet privacy at the end of the lane. Overall though, we really recommend the house!

Great cottage in a great location.

The cottage is within walking distance of everything in Kennebunkport. You may need a car for the beaches if you have a lot to carry. The cottage was the perfect size for our family, and very clean. Rob was responsive with any questions and had great recommendations for local restaurants etc. We had a wonderful time and recommend Mere Cottage to anyone visiting the area.

Great cottage in perfect location

Our family had a great stay at Rob's cottage. It was clean, comfortable, and we had everything we needed for the week. Above all, this is the best location in the Kennebunks...a quiet dead-end street, an easy walk to the beach, and an even easier walk into Kennebunkport.

Walk to town and beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mere Cottage. The cottage was very clean and is in a great location on a quiet side street still in walking distance to the center of town and the beach. We will definitely look to stay at the Mere cottage in the future!

Perfectly charming cottage :)

We had a wonderful stay at Rob's perfect cottage! Rob was wonderfully hospitable. He very thoughtfully left all the lights on for our late arrival! A first for us :) The cottage is clean and well maintained. Its best attribute is its simplicity! The location is wonderfully quiet, while still being close to town and a lovely walk to the beach. Thank you Rob! We really enjoyed our stay at Mere cottage. It was perfect!

Girls Getaway

This was our second stay at Mere Cottage. We love the house, the location, and the privacy. Although we experienced a few hiccups this time around, Rob went out of his way to make things right. Pleasant walk to the beach, and a stones throw to town.We were able to get in some biking, running, and swimming (sometimes all in one day!) Kenneybunkport is a quaint little town with lots to offer. Even went to Vinegar Hill for a performance one evening. Mere Cottage is a great place for a reunion with friends or family.
