About this property

Pretty, Romantic Cornish Cottage with Hot Tub & Sauna near the Beach

Welcome to Steppes Farm Holiday Cottages near Tintagel in Cornwall. Set in an almost secret valley on the edge of Bodmin Moor – but only 10 minutes from civilisation. Romantic Collared Dove Cottage is a fabulous light and airy barn conversion only 7m from the beach.

There is the added bonus of a hot tub and sauna :o)) Ideal to unwind and let those cares drift away. Our water is from our own spring and it's delicious.

Steppes Farm has a magical caring atmosphere that you notice the moment you arrive. It is a pleasure living here and we are delighted to share our home with you guys, who I hope will enjoy it as much as we do ! We love having visitors to stay in the beautiful Cornish countryside of this fabulous part of Britain. Why not have a cosy evening in Padstow ?

At night the only noises are the hoot of owls and the snuffling of nocturnal wildlife. On clear nights (no light pollution here), the skies are inky black and dotted with a million stars, the most incredible that I have seen anywhere in the world - best viewed from the hot tub – the perfect end to a perfect day x

Bodmin Moor is now a designated International Dark Sky Landscape. The very first classified Dark Sky Park in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

For all fans of Rosamunde Pilcher’s works, our area of Cornwall is a must and brings her stories to life. Her stories are inspired by our diverse landscape, from stately homes such as Prideaux Place, Padstow to its wild coastline. Key locations include St. Ives, Bedruthan Steps, Godrevy Lighthouse, Land’s End and the stunning Lanhydrock Estate.

Pencarrow House & Gardens is another must and was used for the film English Wine and can be seen in films – The Red Dress and The Weekend. You will be left with unforgettable memories of the magic of Rosamunde Pilcher’s Cornwall.

Romantic Collared Dove Cottage has stunning views with charming, immaculate and spacious accommodation. This character Cottage, with its very interesting upside-down arrangement, is simply and stylishly decorated, with designer fabrics, comfortable seating and offers a relaxing atmosphere with exposed beams. Collared Dove Cottage is warm in winter with a cosy coal burner, while being cool and refreshing in summer.

Collared Dove Cottage offers one double bedroom on the ground floor, together with contemporary bathroom with separate shower, wc and basin.

We are happy to provide the usual comfy towels linens and a starter pack of household essentials. Our aim is simple - to provide you with immaculate farm cottage accommodation so that you have a wonderful time you will always remember.

HOT TUB & SAUNA facilities are shared between our 3 cottages. We operate a diary system - you just pop down the time you wish to use the facilities and this ensures your private use.

PLEASE NOTE that from the 1st November, 2025 to the 27th March, 2026, (excluding Christmas & New Year when there is no extra charge) is a charge of £85.00 per week for use of the Spa facilities. For short break bookings the charge is £35.00 each time you book the facilities. Charges are payable during your stay, at the time of request. Please note that we do not have card payment facilities.

HEATING – is included. For the coal stoves – the first coal scuttle and firelighters are provided free. Refills will be subjected to a charge of £4.50 per large scuttle.

PETS - it is unfortunately not possible for us to have your dogs inside our Cottages. However we are more than happy to have 1 dog by arrangement to stay in our kennel. Our kennel has an indoor sleeping section plus a good sized outdoor run and is close to all Cottages. Of course your dog can be with you in the gardens and grounds, provided he/she is leashed. Charges are £20.00 per dog and should heating be required within the kennel, an additional charge will be made - depending on usage.

My family & I moved here in 2007 to pursue our dream and we know that you will be as pleased with your stay here as we have always been :o))

Our cosy old farm nestles in the hillside, complete with its own natural spring water supply. We have a fantastic location between the stunning rugged coastline of North Cornwall and Bodmin Moor - an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Steppes Farm, in parts, dates back to medieval times. The main farmhouse was a lot smaller then, with a barn and a dairy behind it. These were merged with the farmhouse around the 1970s.

Why they chose this property

Steppes Farm has all the atmosphere and tradition you could ever hope for. With the added plus of hot tub and sauna :o))))

We are set in 20 acres and surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty. The farmhouse and our 3 luxuriously furnished barn conversions nestle into the countryside, right on the edge of wild and romantic Bodmin Moor - just five miles from the breathtaking Cornish coast. You will find our lovely accommodation in North Cornwall near the towns of Tintagel, Camelford and Boscastle. Port Isaac, Polzeath, Rock and all the best beaches are within easy reach.

Poldark, King Arthur, Daphne du Maurier, Agatha Christie, Rosamunde Pilcher - all inspired by the beautiful coastline and countryside on our doorstep. Let’s not forget Fisherman's Friends & Doc Martin, both filmed at Port Isaac.
