Blue View, a Home in Madeira

Blue View is an apartment at the main touristic district of Funchal near the ocean and is ideal for two people.

The building complex has a shared outdoor parking area, a swimming pool, and a tennis court.

The apartment is a 38 m2 studio and comprises a double bed, sofa, kitchenette, bathroom, and a balcony with sea view.

The apartment is equipped with refrigerator, washer, hob, oven, microwave, coffee maker and other utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, TV with international channels and other amenities to provide a pleasant and relaxed stay.



LOCATION

The apartment is at the main touristic district of Funchal. Within 5-minutes’ walk there are several restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and attraction centres. It is 150 meters from Forum Madeira Shopping Centre, 600 meters from Ponta Gorda swimming facility and 1100 meters from the Lido Swimming Complex via the Lido Promenade.

The apartment has easy pedestrian access to seaside Lido Promenade, bus stops near the building and is easy to drive from and to the major roads. Aerobus from airport has a bus stop 150 meters from the building entrance.



REMARKS

Free parking on premises is subject to availability. If parking on premises is not available, it is possible authorized street parking nearby.

The apartment is in a high-density residential area with shops and services where there is potential noise from traffic, mainly during the day and if windows are open.

The pool is not heated but is open all year round and can be used weather permitting, unless there is some temporary maintenance work taking place.

We ask all guests to keep food well packaged to avoid attracting insects due to the island's climate.

Cleaning is done before guests arrive and then a weekly maintenance cleaning is carried out, which includes changing bed linen and towels.



CONDITIONS

1. Parties or behaviour that disturb the peace and well-being of neighbours are not allowed, especially between 10 pm and 8 am when neighbourhood noise is prohibited.

2. An online check-in form will be sent to collect essential identification data for check-in, arrival time and means of transport, which must be submitted by guests at least two days before arrival.

3. Guests must agree the check-in time at least two days before arrival and the waiting time is 60 minutes, after which a new time can be scheduled according to our availability.

4. Guests may be required to present identification upon arrival and provide missing identification details to comply with legal requirements.

5. Guests must inform about allergies, conditions or special needs before or immediately after booking in order to verify compliance and appropriate measures to be taken.

This place was excellent. The property manager was very kind and punctual. The property itself has all the amenities we needed (laundry, proper kitchen, etc.). The location is very convenient with a shopping mall across the street, bus stop just outside the door, and a short and pretty walk to the beach (which goes through an awesome tunnel). This is a really great place to experience Madeira!

This property has both good and bad attributes. We were here for six weeks so we can rate it honestly and we lived on the island for four years so we know Madeira well.First the good. The cleaning ladies are amazing and I felt like it was clean. It’s literally right on Monumental, so you can walk daily for living… walk to grocery stores, restaurants, the lido and the beach. I find a lot of beds hard on Madeira and I requested a topper and got one and it made the bed comfortable.Now the part now one talks about. I found the property to be poorly equipped. The cutting board and pans were in such poor condition we actually bought our own and donated them to friends when we left. It’s an extremely small space and the equipment there for cooking is like ‘auntie Mona’s leftovers’. Also, the couch is entirely ugly and gross. For the price you pay for this apartment, please purchase a nice lounge. The shower is extremely small but did offer hot water. We asked for two fans because with No AC the apartment gets hot and we were there in April and May. Normally the apartment has no fan. The balcony is nice but you barely have a view of the sea and monumental is EXTREMELY noisy and the bus stop (which is loud and noisy) is right below you. Bottom line, as a renter, homeowner and landlord— this property I felt was over priced and needed remodeling. That being said…it was clean and communication was good with the host.

Der tägliche Saunabesuch hat uns sehr gefallen. Der neue Vorhang hat den Strassenlärm erträglich gemacht. Eine längere Stange am Vorhang. So würde er sauber bleiben.

Wohnen in quirliger Umgebung:

Sehr angenehm ist die Möglichkeit der Mitbenutzung des benachbarten Hotelpools. Einkäufe des täglichen Lebens können im wohlsortierten Supermarkt gleich gegenüber im Forum Madeira getätigt werden und der tägliche Sonnenuntergang ist auf dem Weg der nahen Küstenpromenade am besten zu verfolgen. Sehr schön auch von der Terrasse des nahen „Teahouse“
