Nestled in the peaceful village of Churchill you will find this beautiful Grade ll listed, Cotswold stone cottage, Gables cottage. The property is an ideal base for a small family, small group of friends or three couples seeking a relaxing break in the Cotswolds. Be greeted by two convenient off-road parking spaces, where you can leave your vehicle and enter the property through the back door into the little porch which is ideal for kicking off your muddy boots, as you walk into the property and see the lovely dual aspect sitting room in front of you which has an abundance of character including striking exposed oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone and flagstone flooring in one half of the room with a large inglenook fireplace home to a warming woodburning stove to warm you up on a cold winter evening. Head through the lovely beamed hallway and into the kitchen/diner, where you will find everything you need to cook up a delicious meal whilst listening to your favourite tunes through the iPhone music player, before retreating with your guests to the extendable wooden dining table to enjoy your heart-warming meal. To discover the upper floors of the property, take the narrow, wooden spiral staircase that has a handrail in the centre and fixed stairgates at the top and bottom, where you will find two well-presented bedrooms; the master is a spacious, dual aspect room with elm floorboards and an inviting king-size bed, with plenty of storage for your belongings as well as an en-suite shower room, the second bedroom at the other end of the property is another spacious dual aspect room with striking oak beams and elm flooring, containing a king-size bed and a quaint ornamental inglenook fireplace. Sharing its floor with these bedrooms is the bathroom which is a light and airy space where you can enjoy a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles. A second steep, narrow, spiral staircase leads you up to the eaves of the cottage where you will be greeted by the attractive oak beams and exposed wooden flooring, this room contains twin beds and a three-seater sofa, with built-in storage space. There is a beautiful enclosed garden at the back of the cottage, comprising of lawn and patio areas, with an outdoor table and plenty of seating, as well as a barbecue and a selection of children’s outdoor toys for you to make use of. A handy outhouse which sits within the garden and contains a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer so you and your guests can go home with a bag of clean washing! However, you choose to spend your time in the Cotswolds, be sure to choose Gables Cottage as your home-away-from-home.

Town: Located between Chipping Norton and Kingham, Churchill, Oxfordshire is a picturesque village in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1086 and is now home to several quaint houses constructed from local Cotswold stone and a nice bar with a stone facade. Walk the five miles from Kingham to Chuchill, see the gardens at Daylesford or stop by the Churchill and Sarsden Heritage Centre; on the outskirts of Chipping Norton, you can even stop by the now-famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop. Bourton-on-the-Water, deeper in the rural Cotswolds, is a picturesque and one-of-a-kind village known as the Venice of the Cotswolds due to its low bridges and charming waterways. It is also home to the Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection, The Model Village, and Birdland Park and Gardens, a fantastic destination for birdwatchers. Also on the outskirts of town is the hillfort of Salmonsbury; from there, you may visit the 16th-century home of Snowshill Manor or the majestic Jacobean mansion of Chastleton, both of which are maintained by the National Trust. It's also a short, beautiful drive through the Cotswold countryside to Oxford and Cheltenham, where you may visit many famous landmarks. Lovely !
Charming period character large cottage. Beautiful village ideal for our needs. Garden amazing and all in all 10 out of 10 cleanliness and comfort. Spiral staircase may cause some problem for others but added to character.
