Quiet and Classy Venetian Home with Private Courtyard
Located next to Campo San Barnaba in Dorsoduro the Tintoretto is a charming Venetian style home with private courtyard.
It is a great property for those who are looking for quietness and comfort in a classy environment, with outdoor space.
Campo San Barnaba is considered the best location of the Dorsoduro District by locals as it is close to both public transport and every sort of shop, while offering easy access to the most important landmarks of the historic center.
This house is easily accessible from the Cà Rezzonico Vaporetto Stop in only 1 minute walk and it is laid out over approximately 150 square meters excluding the charming private courtyard. The living area is composed of a spacious dining room connected to a fully equipped kitchen and the living room with a comfortable sofa-bed. The courtyard is accessible from both the dining room and living room. Here you can find a nice marble table and chairs for a lovely breakfast or candlelight dinner. The courtyard is partially covered with flowering trellises and other beautiful plants that are particularly nice from spring to autumn.
There are 3 bedrooms at the Tintoretto: the master bedroom is on the first floor, it is very spacious and elegantly furnished with Rubelli style textiles and antiques, it has an elegant en-suite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe; the second bedroom is next to the living room and can be used as double or twin according to your needs, it also has a luxury en-suite bathroom with white marble and boiserie; the third bedroom is the annex which is accessible from the courtyard and is composed of a single bed with en-suite bathroom. Please note that to access the third bedroom you have to cross the courtyard as it is a separate part of the property: we suggest using this room only from April to November as in winter it could be less comfortable.
At the Tintoretto you will find every amenity such as Wi-Fi, A/C, entertainment system, washing machine, dishwasher and all other electrical appliances. The location is particularly quiet and is suitable also for long stays.
About the location: in the Dorsoduro District you can find plenty of interesting local artisan shops and art showcases in every corner, without the "hustle and bustle" that you might expect being so close to the city centre. It is also the student area, home to the renowned Venice Ca' Foscari University, therefore welcome more nightlife than the rest of Venice. The general vibe is creative, youthful and relaxed. The district heart is Campo Santa Margherita, only 2 minutes’ walk from the apartment: in the daytime you can find a nice open-air market, children playing, locals walking dogs, shops and cafes; in the evening several trendy or classic bars and restaurants opens till midnight and after.

Great location! Check in was super easy and home was perfect for us. One couple stayed in the main bedroom on the second floor with their own bathroom. We stayed on the main floor in the room with 2 twin beds and own bathroom. Access to laundry and terrace was great. Played cards out there a few times! Highly recommend!
Stayed here two weeks and the location was perfect for us…met our needs just right. It’s close to the everything, sites, transport, our language school, provisions, good restaurants, but doesn’t feel like you’re staying in the midst of noisy tourist fray.Expect to be aware of the neighbors, but they live here and that’s normal. We would gladly stay here again.
We couldn’t have been happier with the choice to stay in this house. It was more spacious than we expected, very clean, and excellent service and communication from the company. I really appreciated being able to do laundry, especially traveling with kids. Also, the private courtyard was a beautiful place to enjoy coffee and breakfast. The neighborhood is convenient to restaurants and some shops. I highly recommend this property!
I stayed here with two 20s daughters and a friend for 4 nights. The layout was very conducive to this type of group. I had a private master bedroom upstairs while my daughter and her friend shared a downstairs bedroom and my older daughter had her own space in the cottage. Location was great, we liked this area of Venice the best as it is quiet, not as touristy, and easy, quick access to vaporetto or a 20 minute walk to almost everywhere. The outdoor patio was a nice plus. The property manager was responsive, arranged a private water taxi for us from the airport, and met us at the dock where it was only a few feet to the apartment. Highly recommended.
Hidden on a small island this home has authentic terrazzo floors, AC in a part of venice with mosquitoes so no bites, once hidden is now on a Google maps route to San Marco. The rear garden is as shown in the photos. However i prefer the terrace bars on San Barnaba compo.
Everything was great. English dictions on how to operate the washer/dryer would have helped. Had hot water issues with the 1st floor bathroom but they were resolved as soon as they could be.
spacious and inviting home in a great location. Was so glad to have a ground level home to stay in but when we got there were 2.5 feet high metal rain guards on all the entrances, Being single, I was going to stay in the casita off the courtyard. At 70, I was not able to go over 2 of those guards to get to & from my bedroom. A couple has to share the daybed. It did not rain the 4 days we were there and no neighbors had guards. Had we known that in advance, we would have rented another home.
A great location. Very convenient for shops, restaurants, sight-seeing. Easy access to No 1 Vaporetto so convenient for going to all parts of the city.
The booklet supplied - with details of shops, restaurants, attractions etc for each sestiere - is very useful. The maps and details of recycling arrangements are good, though as we informed your representative some of the recycling times are wrong.
Many thanks to your representative (Apple) for swiftly getting a shopping trolley for us. It was invaluable.
The WiFi signal downstairs is good, but not good upstairs. It would be easy and inexpensive to provide a good signal upstairs as well, using a WiFi extender.
The Annex provides a useful extra bed and bathroom. The annex bathroom needs a new bulb.
We couldn't find any instructions for any of the appliances (oven, dishwasher, microwave, room heaters, upstairs shower, TV).
We couldn't operate the microwave and couldn't work out whether it is faulty or just needs an instruction manual.
The kitchen sink needs a plug (or perhaps the little white knob should operate a plug, but is faulty).
It would be easy and inexpensive to provide a bluetooth speaker, to play music (for example using Spotify), quietly of course so as not to disturb the neighbours.
The apartment was fairly clean, but some places needed a bit more cleaning, for example round the rim of the upstairs shower.
Yours sincerely,
Peter, Marylin, Richard and Elspeth Johnstone
