Upon booking this property we expected it to be a unique experience, but it exceeded our expectations in the most positive ways. The property dates back to the 12th century, so obviously it has some low ceilings, just mind your head. But that is so very charming is that the owners have done a lovely job of maintaining the character and many historic features of the cottage while still keeping it updated for modern comforts and expectations. For example, the exposed beams, fireplace that still has the bread oven, windows with hammered lead panes were all beautifully maintained and really made the space feel special. At the same time, the bathrooms and kitchen had all the modern updated things you want, including a washer/dryer. We were visiting our family who live nearby and the cottage was so very charming that we invited them over for a tour! Everyone was so impressed.
Also, the pub next door is delicious. Definitely book dinner there!
We hope to return in the future and stay again.
