Food and Rest

Lovely people in the pub and food was great Accomodation was lovely and clean but not for tall people and single beds were a bit springy but double bed was very comfortable Maybe need to use a de humidifier Good location for Christchurch and Salisbury On a busy road and perhaps better for adults.

Charm Overflowing

Upon booking this property we expected it to be a unique experience, but it exceeded our expectations in the most positive ways. The property dates back to the 12th century, so obviously it has some low ceilings, just mind your head. But that is so very charming is that the owners have done a lovely job of maintaining the character and many historic features of the cottage while still keeping it updated for modern comforts and expectations. For example, the exposed beams, fireplace that still has the bread oven, windows with hammered lead panes were all beautifully maintained and really made the space feel special. At the same time, the bathrooms and kitchen had all the modern updated things you want, including a washer/dryer. We were visiting our family who live nearby and the cottage was so very charming that we invited them over for a tour! Everyone was so impressed. Also, the pub next door is delicious. Definitely book dinner there! We hope to return in the future and stay again.

Great weekend stay in New Forest

We (3 adults, two small children) had a wonderful weekend at the Stag Cottage by the Old Beams Inn. The cottage was full of history, very clean, quiet and a comfortable stay. It was great to have the Inn next door as well. We were well located to attractions and walks in the New Forest as well as amenities in Ringwood. I would certainly stay here again!

Lovely cottage, great location

There were two couples and one three year old and we stayed for two nights. Shame we didn’t stay longer as lovely, spacious, clean cottage in a great location. The cottage inside was decorated to a high standard and the beds were very comfy. I have back issues and the beds were great. We hope to stay again. The stairs are steep for younger children and you can’t use stair gates etc. However, the handles on the bedrooms can be heard from downstairs and therefore I knew I would be able to hear my son if he left the bedroom. Cottage is attached to the pub which served great food and the customers of the pub were not noisy. Landlord of cottage left milk tea, coffee etc which was very much appreciated. They also left snacks and bubbly which was very generous. The milk and tea and coffee was very much appreciated as we got to the cottage late and being as it’s the new forest, there aren’t many shops nearby. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Great place to stay!!!

Fab location as next pub/restaurant but no noise pollution. Very clean and very tity - all carpets/walls/doors/facilities looked brand new. Recommend the place. Only thing to say where improvement could be made is in both the owners instructions for check-in/answering queries via this app & finding the key box (hidden in doorway high on the wall where very dark/difficult to enter code. Otherwise 5 star review.... Food is Fab in the restaurant!
