Town: Swanage is a small, family-friendly beach village on the legendary Isle of Purbeck, at the eastern extremity of Dorset's famous Jurassic Coast. The little town has a variety of stores, taverns, and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is well-known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place in July. The charming Victorian wooden pier is a terrific spot to take a stroll or try fishing, and it's also a nice site to see the world go by, as it's frequently used as a launching point for divers.
