Welcome to Fough East, your welcoming haven tucked away on the edge of the vibrant village of Oughterard. This attractive white cottage, with its charming green trim and manicured driveway, blends the warmth of Irish hospitality with the comfort of a true home-from-home. Perfect for families and groups, this spacious retreat sleeps up to ten guests.



Inside, you'll find a blend of modern comfort and rustic charm. The house is designed for togetherness, yet each of the five ensuite bedrooms offers a private sanctuary to unwind after a day of exploring. Warm wooden floors, inviting textures, and thoughtful details create a sense of calm and relaxation throughout.

Really comfortable and convenient location. En-suite bathrooms for each bedroom a plus. Easy walk to shopping and several pubs. Easy off street parking. Kitchen well equipped although not large enough to fit more than three or so people at once.

Beautiful cottage. Everything was wonderful. Very clean. Central location to access the area. Short driving distance to Galway and Connemara. It was the walking distance to Oughterard was fabulous. Cute stores, restaurants and groceries if needed. Christa welcomed us in and she was a wonderful host. The scones were the extra bonus.

Great last leg of a trip

Fough East- Wonderful Experience

The property is lovely and close to village center. It’s a short distance to two bus stops, grocery, shops, and dinning. You can walk to Lough Corrib and there is a quaint river walk for some outdoor time. Due to the traffic, you would need to take the bus or car to the golf course or castle. The host was very accommodating and even had fresh baked scones and cinnamon cake for our arrival!

Family trip

We had a wonderful time. Christa was great and so kind and helpful. The house was perfect for our group of 6. It was clean, cozy, and the bedrooms and bathrooms perfect. There was plenty of room and easily could fit a couple more. The location was perfect and there was a great space to park the rental van. Over all this is a fabulous house for groups. We loved the house and the area. Thank you Christa for the warm welcome and delicious cake.

Cousin’s Trip of 10 in the perfect comfy home

We were met with a lovely welcome! Including the most delicious scones and cake. We still dream about those scones. We had 10 adults, plenty of room, fully equipped kitchen and a quick walk to many pub, butcher shop and stores. The town folks were friendly and welcoming. Powers and Fahertys were our favorites for food and craic. We did a lot of day trips and we were always happy to get home to Fough East. We will definitely be back. Plenty of room to relax, each room allowed for privacy, plenty of room to park our cars, and short walk to Powers restaurant for great food!
