A beautifully presented cottage a mile from Carsington Water, the perfect base for exploring the Peak District.. Ground Floor:

First Floor:

Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

Bedroom 2: Single (3ft) Bed

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included; remainder available locally. Cot and high chair available on request. . Front garden with garden furniture. Terraced rear garden with sitting-out area. Private parking for 2 cars. . Godfrey Hole Cottage provides a very good standard of accommodation, combining traditional features with modern comfort. "Clean, cosy and well equipped”... “A beautiful cottage in a great location,” are comments frequently repeated in our visitors’ book. Whether a couple or small family, this charming cottage will make you feel instantly at home.



This is a lovely part of Derbyshire offering scenic walks and country pubs, pretty villages and cultural attractions. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are all within easy reach, as are the Buxton Opera House and Alton Towers.



Walkers and cyclists can enjoy traffic-free routes along the High Peak and Tissington Trails, plus the 8-mile track circling the reservoir. Head for Carsington Water for sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing and bird watching.



A mile down the hill lies the historic market town of Wirksworth with plentiful cafés, pubs and small independent shops. It boasts a couple of restaurants and its very own bijou cinema. The narrow alleyways and distinctive architecture make it well worth exploring on foot. Visit the Wirksworth Heritage Centre to learn more about its fascinating past. There is a produce market every Tuesday and a farmers’ market once a month. Annual events include Wirksworth Well Dressings in May and the September Arts Festival.

The friendly and helpful owners live on site at Godfrey Hole House. From here they run ’Zantium Studios’ offering a choice of craft courses throughout the year. Book ahead to join one of their creative workshops. Matlock 5 miles. Ashbourne 8 miles. Bakewell 12 miles. Derby 14 miles.

Lovely cosy comfortable cottage.

Lovely cosy comfortable cottage. Only negative comment would be traffic noise especially heavy lorries on main road close to the cottage. Helpful friendly hosts.
