The cottage on the whole is lovely, the location perfect, peaceful and exactly what we wanted on this trip. Whilst the beds are dated (specifically those in the twin room) they are very comfortable, but the bedrooms would benefit from closer attention to removing cobwebs. The village of Hartington is simply beautiful, we ate at The Devonshire Arms in the village a number of times and could not fault it. Bakewell and Haddon Hall are both easy drives and well worth a visit.I would recommend to any future guests that they bring their own basic condiments such as salt, pepper and sugar, as there wasn't any. The washing machine is (at this point) broken. We tried to use it and the door kept popping open during the cycle, it had to be held shut until the cycle finished.
