Room for improvement
Whilst arranging my stay I had contacted the host a week prior for transfers to be arranged and if possible attending the villa early due to the time of our flights, both of which were agreed.
As I have then landed in Portugal it took some time for the host to reply to me asking about any information regarding our transfers, it had been established that this had not been arranged at the time when agreed and had to be arranged there and then.
Upon arrival that day there was a power cut within the villa, the host came out to repair this. There was then a further power cut which the host came to repair but did not inform us of this, so we were sat for sometime with no electricity or air con. The host advised us that the power cuts are a fault with the villa and they are aware of them and that we were not to use too many electrical items at once, I.e the oven and air con together. There were three further power cuts throughout the week.
The host wanted a security deposit in cash euros which ate into our budget for the week when we had hoped this could have been deposited via bank card. There was also no place to dry clothing and no coat hangers in wardrobes and the hair dryer broke after the first day.
Overall the villa itself could be improved particularly around the power cuts as it’s inconvenient and leaves those without elcriticty until someone can attend to repair this. There are many little details to be improved upon within the villa
