Herons view is a 3 bedroom Swedish lodge with one king-size sleigh bed, a second king-size bed with en suite shower and a third twin bedroom. There is a 6 person hot tub (new in 2021), covered outdoor seating / dining areas, flatscreen TV, free Wi-Fi and fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and tumble dryer. There are views of the beautiful meadow leading down to Rudyard Lake.. Set in the woodlands on the edge of the Peak District, overlooking a beautiful meadow leading down to the stunning Rudyard Lake, these Swedish lodges offer the perfect retreat.



Hidden deep in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands, Rudyard Lake Lodges offer a base for walking, cycling, climbing, fishing, sailing, boating and so much more.



There is also easy access to Alton Towers 15 miles away, as well as a wealth of historical sites including the Potteries, Chatsworth House, Quarry Bank Mill and a multitude of other National Trust sites. . Accommodation Information

Due to health and safety procedure's the hot tubs are emptied after each booking and re-filled with fresh water which needs to be heated, therefore the water may not be up to full temperature on the day of your arrival however they will still be available to use.

The lodges are set back from the lake and do not have a lake view.

A lovely lodge in a lovely setting.

A lovely lodge in a lovely setting. We loved watching all the different types of birds that came to the bird feeder in the garden. It was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would need. We especially appreciated that everyone was given 3 towels plus hand towels for each shower room. My only note would be it would have been nice to have had in shower non slip mats considering one member of our party is 86 yrs but we managed fine with one of the many towels available.

First off the lodge is in the most amazing location, particularly if you have a dog, we found a new

First off the lodge is in the most amazing location, particularly if you have a dog, we found a new walk to explore directly from the lodge every day. We also had a day at Alton towers which was only 30mins away. Bakewell and Buxton around 45mins. Be prepared if there is wet weather the road up to the lodge does get muddy. Plenty of cafes and a pub within walking distance. The enclosed garden was also appreciated with having a dog. The lodge itself has bags of potential but we found elements of the maintenance a bit lacking (hot tub cover/sofas/crockery/bathrooms) in some areas but then other areas (hot tub/tv/wi fi) were super modern. Overall a lovely stay in a peaceful location
