Town: With one of the mildest climates in the north of England, the beautiful Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands is situated between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay. When the Furness Railway was built, Grange-over-Sands, a sleepy fishing community, was converted into a chic Edwardian resort. A traffic-free promenade, lovely ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band performances, and fantastic bird watching are just a few of the many attractions the town has to offer visitors today. Lake Windermere (8 miles), the charming communities of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, and Cartmel, the birthplace of sticky toffee pudding, are all easily accessible by car. Cartmel also boasts a renowned racecourse and the L'Enclume restaurant, which has been ranked as the fourth best restaurant in the UK.

Very nice and comfortable property, with all the required amenities in a great location for Windermere, Grizedale and Coniston. There also seemed to be lot of local walking routes nearby. Great to have a property with 2 bathrooms.

The accommodation and location were excellent. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived. Unfortunately we later discovered there was no hot water. The available instructions bore no resemblance to the boiler set up. The next morning we were able to contact the help number and eventually managed to get hot water. The problem was it was not possible to have both heating and hot water at the same time. We at last mastered the technique for switching between the two, but it was somewhat inconvenient. That said the house was lovely and well set up with plenty of reading material. The en-suite shower lacked the control to switch between overhead and hand held input and both showers were in need of non-slip mats.If the heating was sorted out we would certainly visit again as the location was wonderful.
