About this property
★ Delightful forest View Cabin with hot tub in Cairngorms ★
This beautiful Cabin, with breathtaking forest and mountain views, is the perfect place for a romantic stay away or a family escape in the Cairngorms!
In the mornings, take in the spectacular views from bed outside the large windows. In the evening, sit outside on the lovely deck or soak in the shared hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine or a wee dram while basking in the beautiful surrounding nature. It’s the perfect way to end a day exploring the local area!
The cabin can sleep up to four guests. Two guests on a king-sized bed on the ground floor and two in the double loft bed. The loft bed is accessed with a ladder as seen in the photos and is suitable for children or agile adults. The cabin has a small kitchen equipped with the essentials including an air fryer, a gorgeous outdoor dining and seating area and a beautiful bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The cabin was designed with sustainability in mind, boasting features such as an eco shower, for the water conscious among us. The cabin is kept cozy and warm as it’s extremely well insulated. A unique and beautiful mural and bouldering wall has been fitted on the back of the cabin for some extra fun!
There is also a hot tub for you to get the full relaxation experience in! The hot tub is shared with our other guests at the steading. You are welcome to use it at any time after 10 am until 9pm to soak and enjoy the scenery. We just ask all our guests to be respectful of each other. The cabin encompasses comfort, functionality and luxury in a magnificent compact and sustainable design, You'll love it!
The forest view cabin is located on a small steading nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms, and on the edge of beautiful Ballater. As you enter you will see an old stone building, a tiny house on the left and a second tiny house to the right of the cabin. A lovely wildflower garden, which will be in full bloom by spring has been planted with native wildflowers and will provide a habitat for local wildlife.
At the steading, we are trying to build unique, low-impact sustainable holiday accommodations, with a community feel and high-quality design and materials for our guests. The cabin and tiny houses are newly built and 100% finished. However, you may notice other projects on the property which are not completed to the same level and our staff members, though, this should not impact or disturb you during your stay.
The cabin is perfectly situated to access all that the Cairngorms and Royal Deeside have to offer. Walking trails, hiking, golf, mountain biking, skiing and other outdoor activities are all on your doorstep.
The accommodation is located a mile and a half to Ballater. You can either walk along the much loved 7 bridges walk, take the 201 bus or drive to get to the village. Here you can find a selection of café’s, restaurants and pubs, or possibly a bit of local independent shopping. If you want to visit the Royal family, Balmoral Estates is a stone’s throw away. Balmoral and Royal Lochnagar Whiskey distillery are only 6 miles away. Also close by is the Historic Town of Braemar.
If there is anything you should need during your stay we are only a message or phone call away.

Cozy, clean cabin with nice views on a working farm. It was very close to town, which has restaurants and groceries. I had a full kitchen so you could cook and the hot tub was a nice touch because it had a great view of the mountains.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We're so glad to hear you had a pleasant stay, and we can’t wait to host you again on your next visit.
Nice, well equipped cabin. Insane views and nice facilities. Helpful hosts. The only slight issue was that the raised bed could have been slightly cleaner as there were some crumbs around the bed. But all around lovely stay and we would reccomend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We have notified our cleaning team about the crumbs. We're so glad to hear you had a pleasant stay, and we can’t wait to host you again on your next visit.
It was a great stay in the cabin in Ballater. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin had what I needed for my two night stay. I was just a single person staying so I didn’t need the loft but note it is quite a steep climb with a small opening so heed the description that it’s probably only good for children.
We were surprised by how close this cabin was to Ballater- connected by a well-traveled and beautiful walking path. The cabin was neat, clean, and quiet.

We're so grateful for your fantastic review! It’s always a joy to know our guests had a great experience. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Booked for a few nights away with our 2 dogs, clean, warm and plenty of space to sit and eat evening meals and separate access paths between houses meant there was no one walking past the front so our dogs could relax

Beautiful cabin in idyllic Cairngorms setting! Stayed with my husband and two young children, who enjoyed climbing the ladder up to their treehouse bed, and our family dog. Perfect size and set-up for us. Conveniently located near the lovely town of Ballater and on the doorstep of stunning scenic walks. Wish we’d stayed longer than one night - we will definitely be back!!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay! The children‘s bed was a bit small for our two teenagers of 1.85m, but still: we wouldn‘t have wanted to miss this stay. We went trekking, jogging and enjoyed the hot tub, the blooming garden and the gorgeous weather. We were always outside.

It was a delightful, beautiful, clean little eco cabin. We enjoyed our stay and Keira made sure all of our questions were answered quickly. We loved the town of Ballater with several really good restaurants. We plan on returning. Thank you!
This was a last minute booking for a quick family getaway and what a find! Arrival was easy, parking on site, enclosed space and park for the kids to run free and away from any cars or danger. The kids loved the swings. They attempted to climb the ‘climbing wall’ on our cabin but quickly learned it was purely decorative ( although they gave it a good go!) The hot tub was the best part, we used it on both days. Even in the snow on the first day which was magical for the kids! The cabin was cosy, really solid, really comfortable. It had everything we needed and decent sized fridge which was great as we brought pizzas for the pizza oven, snacks and nibbles and of course beer and wine to keep chilled. I was glad it could hold all of our food for a family of 4. Pizza oven was so good that we used it both nights as the pizza just tasted amazing in a wood fired oven! My husband loved using the wood fire and we also lit a fire pit. We used this on both nights. On our last night we toasted marshmallows and made s’mores of course. We walked from our cabin along the river and into Ballater. Which was enjoyable for our 7 and 9 year old, especially seeing the local wildlife and farm near by. We can’t wait to come back in the summer for a paddle in the water. Ballater had lots to offer. Great breakfast cafes, lunch options, as well as dinner. The coop is the main shop to pick up extras. Be sure to bring matches or a lighter for the fire pit and pizza oven! We’ll be back!
Warm, cosy cabin with good eco credentials.
The space was compact + although we did manage to fit in the small space to the upper bed, this would not be easy if you were a large person.

Our stay in the cabin was absolutely brilliant …the cabin itself has everything you need for a short stay …it had private outdoor seating …bed was comfy …a wee kitchenette which had everything you need …a shower room …the cabin was clean and has been well thought out …there’s also a hot tub which is shared between 3 cabins …I think we were the only ones to use it …it’s a short trip into Ballater if you need anything …the trails are all on the doorstep …we took our bikes so we could explore further but to be honest we didn’t get too far as we didn’t finish what was around us …we will definitely go back to that cabins …also the host was quick on getting back to you if anything was needed

Thank you so much for you incredible review! We would absolutely love to have you stay again!
The cabin was amazingly beautiful. The decor was very very nice. Everything was very clean and the views were beautiful. First thing I did was take pictures of the cabin to send home. They know How much I wanted to stay in one. I did walk the seven bridge walk I’d sat halfway, also a wonderful scenic walk where I was able to get some fabulous pictures. When I took the walk outside the cabin I was amazed to see rabbits running everywhere. I was like a cartoon, most enjoyable. I did meet up with Karl and he was very helpful and answered all my questions. I can recommend the visiting center and they have an eatery there also. The people were pleasant and helpful too. So glad I had this experience and thank you to Karl for the wine.

Difficult to find property but owners gave good directions unique little getaway in the countryside with beautiful scenery. Very clean inside accommodation and finished to a high standard. Eco friendly. Dog friendly. Suitable for those who want to experience eco living. Main room consists of double bed and small kitchen. No microwave or TV. Shower room beautiful but difficulties obtaining hot water. There is a steep ladder up to a small alcove with a 3/4 size mattress and sky light. Need to be fit and slim to get in and out. Mattress was uncomfortable but when lay on top of quilt with own blanket was adequate.
Would be cold in middle of winter. However small radiator provided which gives off adequate heat.
Suitable for those who want to only use accommodation as base to sleep to explore the cairngorm countryside.
Owners friendly and helpful.
